I am going to try and knock out a bunch of pumpkin items tonight when I get home from work, but I'm finally able to see the light at the end of the pumpkin tunnel!
For today's post I have some fro-yo that was given to me...a little while ago. As you'll see, it has a few ice crystals cause it's been in my fridge longer than it should have, but I didn't want it to go to waste, so I'm gonna review it anyway.
We’ve had an ice cream maker for a while, another Aldi special buy, but we have never used it.
I had some overripe bananas, banana candies, and plain yogurt, so why not try to make some fro yo?
Since this was my first attempt I won’t write up a full recipe, but I will tell you what’s in it.
Ingredients:
This was my first time using the machine and it’s pretty easy. I look forward to making more frozen treats!
- 2 cups of plain yogurt
- 3 overripe bananas cut into little slices
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4th a cup Chopped semi sweet chocolate chips
- A few Banana Choco candies broken up into bits (About 12 candies)

The other day I had to stop by Wegman’s to pick up some wonton wrappers for dinner, and I saw they they had little pints of premium ice cream, similar to Ben and Jerry’s. I just couldn’t resist. I love banana ice cream. (It is second only to Cherry Garcia.)
Store brands typically mean no frills, so the designs and packaging are very basic. The container is a bright, gaudy, yellow with chocolate brown swirls and generic graphics. At first glance, the packaging looks like a 2nd semester design student project, but it actually photographs really well. The bold colors and design give it a nice graphic quality in photos.
The weather is finally getting nicer here in Jersey! To celebrate, my sister and I stopped to get some frozen yogurt. (We both suffer from a fro yo addiction, so I have actually posted yogurt from Kiwi before, see that post HERE. Or see more of my fro yo posts HERE.)
