These were actually sent to me as a gift, which is awesome, but they were a little worse for wear upon arrival. Shipping things, especially food stuff, is just so chaotic right now. But, they're still good to go, so I'm going to power on through!

Snackbusters!
And it don't look good

Snackbusters!
Remember how I said this wasn't going to be a thing? It might not be a permanent addition to my blog line-up, but it's an awesome way for me to bust through similar products in my stash, so I'm doing it again! This time I've got three different flavors of Tic Tacs.
My friends and family have been buying me these flavors as gifts, because they haven't been on the blog yet, but really...they've been in my food stash all along. So I figured I better get these posted ASAP before I drown in Tic Tacs!

Chocolate Passport - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ (Tanzania)
Chocolate Passport (Tanzania) - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ
Today I'll be taking a break from all my pumpkin posts (we're almost done!) to show you this freaking gorgeous chocolate gift-set from Trader Joe's. I was walking around the shop, buying my usual treats, when I saw this on a wooden table by the checkout lines. The packaging caught my eye, so I made a beeline right to it and tossed it into my cart. I thought this might make a nifty little gift item for those of you still shopping for the holidays, so I thought I'd take a moment to review it and let you know what I think.

Endangered Species Chocolate - Dark Chocolate w/Cacao Nibs -Whole Foods (What's Fair Trade?)
Endangered Species Chocolate - Dark Chocolate w/Cacao Nibs -Whole Foods
Now, this is a food blog, so I try my best to stay on topic and discuss foodie things, but every once and a while a food item touches on a little something else. In this case, 10% of the profits from this candy bar goes towards the conservation of various endangered species. I won't get all preachy on you (don't worry), I just wanted to say that I love all creatures big and small, but bats in particular hold a special place in my heart. I don't have any grand story to explain my love of bats, to be honest I have no idea what in particular attracted me to them in the first place, but I just adore them. How can I combine my love of bats and my love of food? With a bat-benefiting candy bar of course!

Crunch 'Mallows - ???
Crunch 'Mallows - ???
This was a birthday present I received back in October. I wanted to get through all my pumpkin posts before starting anything new, and then I just kind of forgot about it. (Whoopsie.) Although this was a gift and I can't say with 100% certainty where is came from, I am pretty sure it's from ThinkGeek. My boyfriend loves that site and he ends up doing a lot of his shopping there. (If you like nerdy stuff that is THE site to buy from.)
There is something about the crispy, styrofoam-y, texture of these dehydrated marshmallows that I absolutely can't get enough of. Thankfully there are tons of ways to satisfy my marshmallow-y cravings. I can buy these bags from ThinkGeek, Mallow Bits at the grocery store, and HUGE bags off Amazon. I am 26 years old and I can have a bowl marshmallows as a meal whenever I please! (Ah the joys of being an adult.)

Monster Pooper - ???
Monster Pooper - ???
This little guy was a birthday gift from one of my oldest friends, B. It's a little wind-up monster that poops candy! ('Poop' is a trigger word for B. It ALWAYS makes him laugh.)
Although this is more of a toy than a candy, I'm going to review it anyway!
The design is pretty gaudy, but this is a pooping monster toy. What do you expect?
Looking at the brand itself, Treat Street, mimics Sesame Street's aesthetics for the packaging, logo, and little monster. Although Sesame Street does it better, this isn't a bad branding. (It's kind of like a college kid's packaging project.)
The packaging is fairly sparse, so I was a little surprised that a clear poop-tray was included. The candies are perfectly round little pellets, so the tray prevents your "poop" from rolling away while your monster is walking. I am actually shocked that a novelty product thought things through. (Good job Treat Street.) Although I appreciated the tray, I totally didn't use it. My photo set up kept the candies in check and scattered candy made for much better photos.
The candy inside is very similar to Spree. I grabbed a few different flavors to try:
Although all of the candies tasted artificial, the yellow/pineapple was by far the best. Although this little guy is a novelty, he is pretty darn fun. I'm not sure how much he was, but I'd say it was worth it.
- orange = orange
- green = lime (Not 100% sure)
- blue = blue raspberry
- red = cherry
- yellow = pineapple (I was quite surprised!)

Cotton Candy Pop Rocks - ???
Cotton Candy Pop Rocks - ???
This was a gift from my boyfriend, so I’m not sure where he purchased it. (Although I’m pretty sure these packages are easy to find.)
Pop Rocks are a classic American candy that became really popular in the 1980’s. It even has it’s own Urban Legend! The rumor was that the mixture of Pop Rocks and Coke can make your stomach explode, but this myth was busted.
The packaging is a beautiful bright blue with magenta lettering, pink cotton candy, and graphics that remind me of Jem and The Holograms. (A show from the 80’s that I adored! I have the series on DVD.) I love everything about this package and it’s design.
Inside, the candies are baby pink and sea foam-green. They look gorgeous! There is a faint sugary smell, but the scent isn’t very strong, and I can’t detect any burnt sugar or cotton candy notes.
I had Pop Rocks all the time as a kid, so the taste is very nostalgic for me. The candy pops and sizzles in your mouth with a sweet, slightly fruity, flavor. I can’t quite place the specific flavor, but I think it is more-so a pink/strawberry cotton candy than a blue/raspberry one.
I love this candy both for the nostalgia and the taste. If you haven’t had Pop Rocks you are definitely missing out!

Goldfish Grahams, Vanilla Cupcake - ???

Goldfish Grahams, Vanilla Cupcake - ???
I’m almost done reviewing all the food I received for Valentine’s Day. (My last Valentine’s Day gift review will be Mo’s bacon chocolate bar.)
Goldfish packaging has changed a bit over the years. I remember when the bags were made of foiled paper, similar to the Pepperidge Farm cookies (which are both made by the same company), now they are made with plastic. Goldfish is a brand whose design has evolved with the product and it’s audience. This cupcake graham design looks current and refreshing. With the swirls of blue and pops of cupcake color, I think it would definitely catch the eyes of little kids and parents.

Southern Tier Crème Brulé Stout - ???
Southern Tier Crème Brulé Stout - ???
Sorry for the last two updates I missed. I threw a party and that kept me pretty busy. Setting up, cooking, cleaning up….you know how it goes.
This was something my awesome friend Jamie brought to my cookie swap Saturday night. THANK YOU JAMIE!
I had seen this around the internet, but my local liquor shop ALWAYS sold out. The shelf is always clear every time I visited the store! I am not a big beer drinker, but I had to see what all the fuss was about.

Pinnacle Cotton Candy Vodka - ???
Pinnacle Cotton Candy Vodka - ???
Another little birthday gift from my boyfriend. (I got this back in October but I haven't gotten around to reviewing it.)
Now, I am not a big drinker, and I am no vodka expert, so take this review with a grain of salt. I am just a 20-something foodie who likes their booze to taste like candy and food. If you're like me and prefer your alcoholic drinks to taste yummy, this review is for you.
Due to the consistent packaging and design for all Pinnacle products, I’ll skip over the aesthetic part of my review. (Although I will say that all my Pinnacle bottles look so nice next to one another.)
As soon as you twist off the cap it is blatantly obvious that this vodka will be sweet. It smells sugary, but there is still an alcohol aroma. In fact, the scent reminds me of this cotton candy perfume I used in middle school called Juice Bar. (Does anyone else remember that stuff?) The initial scent doesn’t bring cotton candy to mind, but it does have an indiscriminate candy smell.
Taking a sip, the vodka tastes as sweet as it smells. I'm not someone who usually does shots, but I think I could handle a few of these. There was more of a burning sensation for this flavor than the pumpkin pie version, but it isn’t as bad as the Wave flavored vodkas I reviewed before. As far as taste, it isn’t very cotton-candy-like on it’s own, but I could see it being a good addition for a mixed drink. (This would mix well with cream sodas and other sweet beverages.)

Gummy Bacon - ???
Gummy Bacon - ???
For my birthday this year my boyfriend gave me a big bag of candy. Inside, I found Uncle Oinker’s Gummy Bacon. Thankfully, this is strawberry flavored and not bacon flavored. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE bacon and I LOVE gummy candy, but bacon-flavored gummies? No thank you.
The packaging is pretty rough, it feels like a student project. I wish they had put more cheesy jokes and such on the packaging and really pushed the bad-ness of it. I love things that are so bad they are good. What I DO like is that there is a little “bacon viewing window” just like real packages of bacon.
Inside the box there is a plastic pouch with four strips of gummy bacon.
