Familiar, Yet Different - Green Tea Ginger Ale

Canada Dry Green Tea Ginger Ale
- ShopRite
Another April impulse buy. I normally don't go to ShopRite, because I'm cheap and prefer Aldi, but during the early days of home quarantine I had a hard time getting groceries delivered to the house, and my ex and his daughter were into things like Mountain Dew and Mio water enhancers, so I sewed a few masks and braved the stores to make a massive grocery run for the household.

Along with essentials, I grabbed this, and a few other random items thinking they'd be fun to review, after all I'd have so much free time at home that I could get back into blogging again...(poor, naïve, past-me had such good intentions.) Now here I am, 5 months later, fingers crossed it's good!

Turns Out I'm 100% That Witch - Witch's Brew Kit-Kats

Witch's  Brew Kit-Kats - CVS
Where are all the ghoulish goods? I feel like I usually have a decent pile of new Halloween-y treats to review each year, but this time around I only have these Kit-Kats, and the Franken-cup Reeses. (Which are arguably just the same as normal Reese's anyway.) Other than these two, it's just a sea of seasonal repeats.

Other brands may be lacking the spooky spirit, but Kit-Kat is picking up the slack! For fall 2020 they've released normal Kit-Kat bars in Halloween packaging, white-chocolate orange-colored bars, pumpkin pie flavored bars, glow in the dark wrappers, AND these Halloween-specific Witch's Brew ones. While most of them are just re-packagings/coloring of year-round goodies, I still appreciate the effort. Let's dig in!

Limited Edition Halloween Crunch - Target

Limited Edition Halloween Crunch - Target
So this review is slightly pointless, because this is Halloween Captain Crunch, but it tastes just like normal Captain Crunch. The only thing that makes this Limited Edition is the fact that these "ghost" shapes they've added will turn your milk green. I really like the box art, so I'm going to write it up anyway, because Halloween.

Campfire Ghostbusters Marshmallows - Walmart

 Campfire Ghostbusters Marshmallows - Walmart
Being an adult sucks. It's Saturday, and instead of sleeping in and being a bum in my PJ's I woke up early to take a 2-hour state-regulated standardized test on art making and content knowledge. Then I came home  and cleaned out my car (because I dropped my license under the seat and couldn't find it), made lunch, did three loads of laundry, folded all three loads of laundry and dusted. After all that adulting...I deserve a treat.
I picked up these special Ghostbusters themed marshmallows a while back and I really wanted to review them...but they're just normal marshmallows in wacky shapes and colors, so I didn't think the review would be all that interesting.
Instead, I'll just give you a close up look at the shapes and show you what I made with them.

Sea Salt Kale Chips - Aldi

Sea Salt Kale Chips - Aldi
Two (somewhat) healthy Aldi reviews in a row?! Well, after Aldi's lack luster ranch flavored kale chips (more like kale croutons) I figured they deserved a chance to redeem themselves. Plus, my immune system failed me this week so I've got I the flu. Missing out on all that sunshine and nice weather while hiding under a pile of blankets and binge watching The X-Files has made me want to eat healthier in an effort to speed up my recovery. It's likely a dietary placebo to make me think I'll get better faster, but who know? Eating a little bit healthier couldn't hurt, right? Bring on the chips!

Doritos Poppin' Jalapeño Chips - Walmart

Doritos Poppin' Jalapeño Chips - Walmart
Valentine's Day is officially one week away! I'm sticking to my original goal of reviewing everything in my foodie stash that is related to this lovey dovey holiday before February 14th, but I don't want to flood your feeds with all things pink and heart-shaped. We still need some variety, and there's no shortage of goodies in my food stash, so I figured I'd toss a few of these shorter savory reviews into the mix.

These Poppin' Jalapeño flavored Doritos are a re-released product, so they're not entirely new, but they're new to me since I've never had them before. As a lover of spicy snack foods, and a food blogger, I felt it was my duty to try these before they disappeared back into the limited edition foodie abyss.

Holiday Mix Skittles - DollarTree: Cherry Hill, NJ

Holiday Mix Skittles - DollarTree: Cherry Hill, NJ
We all know by now that I'm a bit of a Scrooge about the winter holidays, so I didn't buy very many holiday themed foods or candies, but this odd little item caught my eye. It's a mix of Skittles that are only red and green, and the flavors in this mix are a bit...off.

Pumpkin Patch Orange Pop Rocks - gift

Pumpkin Patch Orange Pop Rocks - gift
This is a seasonal item that seems to return each fall, and ever single time I see it, I mistake it for some kind of limited edition Pumpkin Spiced Pop Rocks. Now, I have to admit that pumpkin flavored popping candy wouldn't be the best idea, but if it existed, I'd totally try it. (A sparkling apple cider version would be a lot tastier, maybe they should try that next year.)

Guacamole Tortilla Chips - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ

Guacamole Tortilla Chips - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
Avocado is one of those trendy (and healthy) foods I never really got into...until now. I don't know what happened, I've always enjoyed it, but lately I have been trying to find a way to get avocado into everything I eat.

It's in my quesadillas, my sushi bowls, and now my tortilla chips. Will these taste as good as the real thing?
