Crunchy Milk? Yes, please!

I'm super sleepy, but I wanted to keep my 3-day review-streak going, so I'm here with a quickie!

I picked these up at Hung Vuong the same day I grabbed the tiramisu and cheesecake candies.

Peko-chan, the mascot on the packaging, is super cute, and I've had several Milky products in the past so I know the brand is consistently good. I had to get it.

Purse-sized Desserts - Senjaku Berry Cheesecake and Triamisu Candy

Even with my backlog looming over my head, we all know I can't resist an adorably packaged hard candy. I spotted these at Hung Vuong and next thing I knew, they were in my cart. Funny how that happens.

Portable purse sized desserts? Will they satisfy the sweet tooth? I guess we'll see.

Watermelon Sandwich, HIGH - No really, I found watermelon sandwiches

I actually tried this on my friends' live stream, but it's so stinking cute I wanted to give it a full post.

Look at this! Watermelon bread-sandwiches?! How could I resist?

Sweet Corn Turtle Chips

Sweet Corn Turtle Chips

"Lay's Layers" aren't as new as they claim to be. If you've ever walked down the Korean snack aisle, you'd know that Turtle Chips are a light, 4-layered, snack food that has been around for years. Looking at the two products side-by-side, they're exactly the same in texture and execution, but available flavors is the one place they seem to differ. Lay's offered sour cream and onion, as well as a cheesy version for the American market, but Orion opts for flavors like vanilla, sweet bean, chocolate churro, seaweed, flaming lime, and sweet corn. If I were going to pick one based on available flavors alone, Orion's Turtle Chips are far more intriguing. So I grabbed a bag of sweet corn, and a bag of sweet bean (review coming next week) to try.

It's Like it was Made for Me! - Honey Lemon Paw Print Gummies

Another item from my backlog stash! This has adorable pet-themed packaging, it's a gummy, and it's honey lemon flavored. It's like it was made for me.

I always feel like I can't eat something until I have time to photograph and review it, so this has been in my stash for...a few months, but I'm excited to finally give these a try!

Just keep Chewing - Yogurt3 Hi-Chew

Yogurt Drink Hi-Chew - Hung Vuong Market

I want buffalo chicken and Yakult flavored everything.

Yakult, is a tiny, sweet, yogurt-based probiotic drink popularized in America by the, "To All The Boys," series of movies. (Which I haven't seen.) They are easy to find in any Asian market, and there all all kinds of brands with their own takes on the drink and fruity flavor variations.

It's typical for me to go through foodie-flavor-phases, meaning I'll get really into something and consume it until I get absolutely sick of it, but this is a particularly unique combination. To satisfy my cravings I have made buffalo chicken dip, buffalo chicken soup (which was especially delicious), a buffalo chicken casserole, and I went to H-Mart and grabbed several packs of Yakult and these candies from Hung Vuong Market.

That said, these are not technically "Yakult" flavored candies, but we all know what they're going for.

Garlic Bread Flavored Almonds with Croutons? (And Honey Citron Flavor, too!)

Garlic Bread and Lemon Citron Almonds - Hung Vuong Food Market

The last two Gilim Tom's flavors I reviewed were a lot of fun, and after learning about how many variations they have to offer, I was looking forward to trying even more. On my most recent trip to Hung Vuong Food Market, I grabbed Honey Citron and Garlicbread. Let's see how these compare!

My Kind of Shots - Doritos Crack Pepper Chicken Flavor Shots

Doritos Flavor Shots Crack Pepper Chicken  - Hung Vuong Market

Are Flavor Shots still sold in America? The Frito-Lay website only lists one flavor, Fiery Habanero Triangles, but when you click on it, they're not available for purchase locally or online. I guess they're discontinued state-side? Which goes to show how much attention I pay to Doritos these days.

I can never find new products in my area (RIP Wasabi and the Tangy Cool Ranch flavors I never got to try), and when I do fall in love with something new and interesting, it's discontinued, like my beloved Collisions series. Frito-Lay is like the Bath & Body Works of the snacking world, as soon as you fall in love with something new, it's gone. (But they'll have Japanese Cherry Blossom FOREVER.)

I've had no luck with American Doritos flavors, but what about a Taiwanese one?

Barbie-sized Ice Cream Cones

Senjaku Soft Ice Cream Candies - Hung Vuong
In spite of decorating my home with skulls and spooky objects year-round, I am not immune to pastel cuteness. That said, this is hella cute. (When have I ever said, "hella?" It felt right at the time, but now I'm getting early 2000's No Doubt flashbacks.)

We have uniquely shaped packaging, pastels, stripes, confetti, and the promise of tiny ice cream cone shaped vanilla candies. I had to have it.

As far as the candy inside, I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. The descriptor says "soft ice cream shaped cute candy," so it'll be ice cream shaped, but the "soft" refers to this being based on vanilla soft serve ice cream, so I wasn't sure what form the candy inside would take. Gummy? Mellowcreme? Turns out they're actually hard candies and they're 3D!

I'm on a Tea-Kick Lately (Master Kong Tropical Iced Tea)

Master Kong Tropical Fruit Iced Tea - Hung Vuong

Colorful packaging always wins me over, and this features every color in the rainbow PLUS a bunch of appealing fruity imagery. Other than it being labeled "Iced tea" and having tons of fruit on it, I know absolutely nothing about this product but...

Technology is really amazing you guys. I have a Pixel phone, so I took a photo and ran it through Google lens, and not only did it translate some of the bottle for me instantly, but it reverse image searched and found out that this is Master Kong brand tropical fruit iced tea. (And you can scan the code on the cap for...something. Prizes I presume?) We're living in the future.

Now that I know what it is, let's see how it tastes.

Black Cookie - Egg and Cheese Flavored Cookies?

Black Cookies
- Hung Vuong Supermarket
We have metallic gold against the image of a black-brick wall, a picture of what looks like a black-colored macaron, BUT it is supposedly egg and cheese flavored. How could I NOT buy this?!

I'm a sucker for weird flavors and a pretty package, but I've been down this road before. Will this actually deliver? We shall see.

So Freaking Cute, I HAD to have it

Sumikkogurashi Puccho (with Washi Tape!) - Hung Voung Market

Hello, my name is Maria, and I am a sucker for cute packaging and a craft supply hoarder. It's like this product was made for me.
I am not a San-X fan, in fact, I had to google these characters to even know what they were, but I couldn't resist a tiny roll of (potentially) adorable washi tape.

For those interested, these characters are Sumikkogurashi, pretty much adorable little animals/objects/anthropomorphic food who prefer living a solitary live in the corner of a room. An oddly specific interest for sure, and their bios indicate that each character has their own issues, like body insecurity, being generally fed up, and being discarded. The concept seems like a downer at first, but...same.

See for yourself:

Tiramisu and Strawberry Almonds - Gilim Tom's Farm

Tiramisu and Strawberry Almonds -
 Hung Vuong Food Market

Nuts are my least favorite part of trail mix. I don't have anything against them, I'm not allergic and I don't mind the flavor, in fact I love things flavored with nuts, I just don't want to eat them as-is, for some reason. The idea of someone just snacking on almonds absolutely blows my mind. Yet, it's a booming industry. Look at the snack aisles. They're covered in different flavors of mixed nuts, everything from sweet to savory, and the Hung Vuong Food Market is no exception.
There was an end cap absolutely filled with different flavors of Gilim Tom's Almonds. From what I can tell, they're the Bertie Bott's of snacking nuts. They offer all kinds of varieties but the store I was in seemed to focus on almonds.

Here is a quick run down of the flavors I have seen:

Hong Kong Strawberry Gummy - Hung Vuong Market

Strawberry Gummy - Hung Vuong Food Market

I picked these up for two reasons, one: because it looked pretty, and two: because it's a gummy, and gummy candies are my favorite.

A strawberry gummy candy is a pretty safe bet no matter where it comes from or who makes it, so I thought this was going to be a short and simple review. I was wrong.

Caramel Pumpkin Lay's (I Think?)

Caramel Pumpkin Chips - Hung Vuong Market

Halloween may be over, but we're not through with pumpkin-season yet. Although I pretty much ruined all things pumpkin related for myself, forever, I still can't resist new and wacky items, like these chips.

I found them all alone in the snacking aisle with little to no English, so all I had to go on was a translated ingredient label, and the imagery, which made it seem like these were some kind of sweet caramel and pumpkin flavored chip, and I figured...why not give it a try?

Pudding Filled Corn Gummies - HAPPY HALLO-WEEK!

Pudding Filled Corn Gummies - Hung Vuong Market

Happy HALLO-WEEK! It's my favorite time of the year, so I worked extra hard to make sure I have content scheduled for every day this week! (Just like the old days!)

Tuesday and Thursday have normal written reviews of Halloween candies, and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday you get written posts AND YouTube videos!

A while back I received a comment saying that videos were difficult for those with hearing loss, and captioning services are a bit too expensive for my non-monetized-self to afford, so the video-reviewed products will also be getting fully written up posts that same day, like today's corn gummies!

You can watch the video above, and check out the written post below! Let's jump right in a review some pudding filled corn gummies!
