A Duet of Duos

Kit-Kat Duos: Mocha & Dark Chocolate and Mint  - Aldi

American Kit-Kats are finally getting a steady stream of creativity and innovation! 

Previously, all my fun Kit-Kat reviews came from flavors that were sold overseas, like wasabi or bakeable Sweet Potato, but in the last four years we've had a healthy amount of American flavors. Seasonal offerings, like pumpkin pie, red velvet, and raspberry, a few local-flavors (like California Strawberry), and now stand alone packs of Apple Pie, Birthday Cake, and these Duos. 

The mint Duo came out over a year ago, and I guess it was successful, because it's stuck around and now the line is expanding with this new mocha flavor. So, why not check both out and see what they have to offer? 

Not a fan of vanilla? How about Mocha?

The companion Pop-Tart to yesterday's review, today we have Chocolate Mocha! 

Kind of a redundant name, don't you think? With "mocha" the chocolate is usually implied. I mean, a cafe mocha is milk, espresso (some times places use plain ol' coffee) and a hint of chocolate. It's like calling chocolate milk, "chocolaty chocolate milk."  Perhaps the chocolate here refers to the chocolate pastry shell? Oh well, enough semantics, let's eat!

I've been insanely busy. My queue of pre-written reviews ran out earlier this week, and I meant to sit down and write some more, but between working late at my day job, taking commission work on the side, packaging and shipping holiday Etsy orders, starting a (beginners) yoga class, and dealing with all the holiday madness of buying gifts for my friends and family...I am stretched thinner than my waistband this month (hence the yoga). 

I'm beyond stressed out, so let's negate all that healthy activity I just did at yoga with some chocolate. (Best idea ever!) Thankfully this candy is coffee related too, so maybe it'll give me the boost I need to get my insanely long list of errands done today.

About a month ago Chips Ahoy! (Do I really have to type the '!' every time?) released four new cookie flavors that were supposedly ice cream inspired. There's Root-Beer Float, Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Mint and Mocha Chunk. I posted a photo of the Walmart display, which was super cute, but that seems to be the extent of their advertizing. I haven't seen any ads for these new flavors. (Have any of you?)

Mocha Kreme Doughnut- Krispy Kreme - Collingswood, NJ 

Krispy Kreme's Caramel Coffee Kreme doughnut was pretty impressive, and it actually tasted like coffee and caramel. My coffee addicted boyfriend loved it, and I really enjoyed it too, so I highly recommend grabbing one before this flavor disappears. Now, let's see if the Mocha version is worth checking out.
