A Double Dose of Balls (I said what I said) - Orange Cream Pop & S'Mores

Herr's S'Mores and Orange Cream Pop Balls - Ollie's

At first glance, the Herr's snack ball line seems a bit...juvenile. I used to work in daycare (which seems like a lifetime ago), and ball-shaped things like these were perfect for snack time. They're fun, easy for little fingers to grab, easy to chew, and in the case of Herr's, they come in a variety of colors and sweet flavors. It's a toddler's dream. Along with the child-like-appeal, the packaging always feels slapped together, making these easy to dismiss as a novelty. I looked down on these for a long time, thinking it's child-food, but after trying the Funnel Cake Balls I was singing a different tune.

Funnel Cake opened my eyes to these being more legit than I thought, and while not every flavor was a winner (like the lack-luster Cotton Candy), I decided I would do my best to try the rest of the line-up this time around. So let's give these two flavors a go!

Funnel Cake Flavored Snack Balls: Because Everything is Better Ball Shaped?

Herr's Funnel Cake Flavored Snack Balls - Ollie's Bargain Outlet
No need to worry! These might be expired NOW, but they weren't back when I ate them.
These pictures and notes were taken from November 4th. I actually have a bunch of half-started posts from the last few months I'll be finishing up, so keep that in mind before turning me over to the botulism police.
Have you guys every been to Ollie's Bargain Outlet? Ollie's buys up all kinds of off-season stock (most recently all the leftover Toys R' Us) but they also get tons of junk food. I joke that it is where limited edition food goes to die, but it IS where limited edition food goes to die. The food related aisles are a seasonal graveyard. We're talking limited edition cereals, seasonal flavored Pop-Tarts, and quirky treats that maybe didn't do so well in grocery stores at full price, like these Funnel Cake Balls.

I Mint to Post This Earlier - Dark Chocolate Mint Fudge Stripes

Dark Chocolate Mint Fudge Stripe Cookies - Ollie's $1.29
Good o'l Ollie's. Where all limited edition food goes to die.
If you're not familiar with Ollie's, it's a bargain shop that gets closeout goods and off-season products and sells them are lower price points. I was there buying last minute Christmas ornaments (because all I own are Halloween decorations) and couldn't resist picking up a few snacks.
If you search the blog you'll see that in all my years of blogging, I've never reviewed a Fudge Stripe cookie, and that isn't an oversight. I'm not a fan, but I love the combination of chocolate with mint, and I love a bargain, so maybe these will win me over?

Orange You Glad I'm Posting Reviews? - Root Beer & Orange Crush Pop-Tarts

Root Beer & Orange Crush Pop-Tarts - Ollie's Bargain Outlet
Limited Edition Pop-Tarts, unlike Oreos, are pretty low-risk when it comes to writing food reviews. I can easily recall a few failure/nightmare Oreo products that haunt my tastebuds to this day, but when it comes to Pop-Tart flavors, I have no regrets.
Even the slightly more risky flavors, like Maple bacon were pretty great! I liked them so much that I bought several clearance boxes for my at-desk snacking needs. Unfortunately, Pop-Tart's winning track record is now being put to the test with these new Soda flavors.

Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup Cheese Curls

Herr's Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup Curls - Ollie's Bargain Outlet $1.89
Just like mom used to make. Well, not my mom, but maybe yours? We weren't a big tomato soup family, but that's something we'll get into later.
Today's post is another foray into stuff that's supposed to taste like other stuff, brought to you by Herr's and Ollie's Bargain Outlet. Good Stuff Cheap! (#notsponsored)
Of all the things I picked up at Ollie's (which included blue cotton candy flavored corn puffs), this was the product I was most skeptical of. I bought it anyway, because it was cheap, and there was an odd satisfaction in knowing I got the whole full set of wacky Herr's products. Well, all the ones sold at Ollie's anyway. They're are more flavors available than what you've seen on the blog, but those aren't on sale for a $1.89, so they'll have to wait.

As I put the Grilled Cheese bag into my cart, I cringed. It isn't the grilled cheese aspect of this flavor that's making me hesitant, it's the tomato soup part.
