As American as Apple Pie (Oreos)

Apple Pie Oreo -  Walmart 2.98
No need to adjust your screen, you're not entering The Outer Limits, and we're definitely not in the Twilight Zone because I don't hear the velvety smooth voice of Rod Serling ominously narrating my current situation. (My mom and I freaking love the Twilight Zone, and Black Mirror. So good!)
I'm back today with another, equally beige, Oreo. Both these and the Cookie Butter Oreos are currently on display at Walmart and, at a glance, they look nearly identical. I don't think Oreo has ever released new flavors that were this visually similar before. Both bags feature tan-colored foods, both have blue backgrounds, and both have graham flavored cookies. If I'm not paying attention, I can easily mistake one package for another, but once you peel back the plastic it's clear that this is no Cookie Butter Oreo.

Tastykake Pumpkin Cheesecake Baked Pie - Walmart

Tastykake Pumpkin Cheesecake Baked Pie - Walmart
Hold on to your cheesesteaks Philadelphians, I'm about to say something shocking.... I don't like Tastykake.
Tastykake is a hugely popular snack company in the NJ-PA region. The company's offerings are pretty similar to Little Debbie and Hostess, so we're talking grocery-store-quality cookies, snack cakes, pies, and doughnuts, but they're more unique items are their baked pies, "Koffee Kakes" and "Kandy Kakes." If you haven't noticed by now, the Kompany really likes Kreative spelling.
You can find their items at every 7-Eleven, Wawa, corner store and grocery shop in the area. I grew up with this company and it's offerings but I never really understood it's devoted fanbase. When people move away from the area one of the things they always miss (other than cheesesteaks and Wawas) are Tastykake's products. I just don't get the appeal. Then again, before you all start pelting me with soft pretzels and chasing me out of town, I don't like most grocery store cookies and snack cakes. It wasn't until very recently that I was converted by the ever awesome banana Twinkie and decided to give more of these products a chance. So, here we are with another Tastykake product, will this be the one to finally make me see the light? (Or is it more like drinking the Kool-Aid...let's hope not.)

Blueberry Pie Oreos -Target

Blueberry Pie Oreos -Target
Welp, here we are. Another limited edition Oreo to review.

I was originally going to skip this one on purpose because I thought it was going to be boring. Remember when I had those Blueberry Ice Cream Oreos from China? Those had a mentholated effect to recreate the coolness of ice cream mixed into the cookie. After trying those I didn't feel the need to taste America's version...until all my other foodie friends gave it a try and rated it so highly. Could I have been wrong? Was this cookie not a flop after all? I guess we'll see!

Project 7 Key Lime Pie Build+A+Flavor Gum - Target

Project 7 Key Lime Pie Build+A+Flavor Gum - Target
I've gushed over Project 7's packaging and overall branding, but to be honest, the only product of theirs I truly love and repurchase on a regular basis are their vanilla peppermints. This company has TONS of gum flavors, but I always feel like the taste never lives up to their fancy flavor names, but maybe that will change now that we have these Target exclusive Build+A+Flavor packs.
Back when Dessert Delights gum was around they had a Key Lime Pie flavor, and it was my absolute favorite! Since it was discontinued a few years ago I've been missing my chewable pie-flavored fix, so I'm really hoping this will be an adequate (or improved) replacement.

Mini Pumpkin Pies - Trader Joe's

Mini Pumpkin Pie- Trader Joe's
Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie~! My food hoarding isn't limited to the giant pile in my photo-room, it's apparently found it's way into my freezer. I was digging through my usual freezer stuff to find my giant bag of frozen french fries from BJ's, because I'm eating oh-so-healthy this week, and I spotted this box hidden in the depths of my icy freezer-prison where time and food are (obviously) forgotten. It didn't look freezer burnt, so why not review it for todays' #TBT and put it out of it's off-season misery?

Limited Edition Apple Pie Juice Drink - Walmart: Berlin,NJ

Limited Edition Apple Pie Juice Drink - Walmart: Berlin,NJ
I love watching different YouTubers, in fact, I watch YouTube videos way more than I watch TV. One person that I've been following for years is beauty blogger, xSparkage. She might be considered a beauty guru, but she loves food and kitchen gadgets, and a long time ago she was raving about a drink that tasted just like apple pie. It was over a year ago, so I can't remember what video it was, and I don't know if this is the same brand she was drinking, but when I saw this, I remembered her video, and I knew I had to try this stuff out.

Pumpkin Pie Toaster Strudel - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

Pumpkin Pie Toaster Strudel - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
Welp, it looks like I'll be writing pumpkin related reviews all this week! After going through my to-be-reviewed pile, it's safe to say, I went overboard on the pumpkin this year. Originally I wasn't going to review this limited edition flavor, since I was so disappointed by the Snickerdoodle Toaster Strudel, but I saw this item reviewed over on Junk Food Guy's blog, and after reading his post, I HAD to try them for myself.

Pecan Pie Pringles - Target - Riverside, NJ

Pecan Pie Pringles  - Target - Riverside, NJ
Last year the Pringles company decided to change things up and they released three different dessert flavored chips: White Chocolate Peppermint, Pumpkin Pie, and Cinnamon Sugar. I was really excited that the company tried something new, but it turned out to be a big disaster. I was only able to get my hands on the cinnamon and white chocolate varieties last year, and both were disappointing. All the company did was take normal, salty, Pringles and coat them in a light dusting of cinnamon or mint. It was like eating Pringles after brushing your teeth or eating something cinnamon-y.
I noticed that the dessert flavors quickly disappeared from the shelves, so I figured the company decided to scrap the idea, but they are back! What else? Pringles released a new Pecan Pie variety. (With a really weird ad to boot. Is it just me? Or is this really creepy?)

I was going to ignore this culinary innovation due to being burned in the past, but other foodies said that these were worth trying, and they actually got some good reviews. I caved in and bought a container when I casually saw them on a Target end-cap. Let's hope I wasn't tricked into another foodie fail. I put the last two sweet Pringles flavors I bought out at a party with over 20 people and NO ONE liked them. There were a few half eaten chips on napkins, but I was stuck with those tubes until the snow thawed and they could be given to the birds and squirrels. I hate wasting money on foodie fails, so I really hope these are at least tolerable.

Pumpkin Pie Fudge - ???

Pumpkin Pie Fudge - ???
This was a little gift from my mother, who likes to read my foodie posts. (Hi mom!) I'm not sure where she bought it, I'm guessing it was somewhere near the Jersey Shore, but a lot of places are peddling pumpkin fudge these days. At this point I have already reviewed a pumpkin fudge, but this one is packaged so cutely! How could I not photograph it?

There isn't much packaging to review. This is just a mini pie tin with some saran-wrap and a sticker. I don't even see any nutritional information posted anywhere. (Which is a little odd, but the last fudge I reviewed didn't have any information either.) There really isn't much for me to talk about. I mean, I like the pie tin, but I feel like this packaging is more for show than function or convenience. It was easy to remove the fudge from the tin, but it is difficult to keep it fresh.

Pumpkin Pie TastyKake- Walmart: Cinnaminson, NJ

Pumpkin Pie TastyKake- Walmart: Cinnaminson, NJ
I’m having a bit of a family crisis right now, so I am not sure if there will be an update tomorrow. I’ll try my best.

I am not a big fan of snack cakes and the TastyKake brand, but I was on the look out for different pumpkin things to review for my Pumpkin 2013 haul and this caught my eye.

The box is very pale and plain, other than the generic TastyKake design, there isn’t much to review at all. I will say that it opened very easily and the box did prevent the little pie from being damaged in my grocery bag. (So it’s functional.)

Pumpkin Supreme Pie - Pumpkin 2012 Haul

Pumpkin Supreme Pie - Aldi : Medford, NJ
I am collecting all of my pumpkin posts from last year and re-posting them here on Blogger to make a comprehensive collection. Here is the original Tumblr post.
(It's my boyfriend’s Birthday! <3)
I still have a few lingering pumpkin items around, but they’ll be mixed in with Halloween and other fall-treats.

I decided to save this pie for last to sort of celebrate the past 3 weeks of pumpkin goodness.

Mini Pecan Pie - Tennessee

Mini Pecan Pie - Tennessee
My buddy Jared and his amazing band, The Zombie Mafia, went on tour recently! When he came back he brought me a little treat. A mini pecan pie!
