I love Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts, and I am lucky enough to have one relatively close to where I live, so I am very familiar with how they taste, but I find that they are more of a textural experience than a flavor one. They're sweet, doughy, and when they're warm, they melt in your mouth. I could eat a full dozen right now and not think twice. But, can popcorn deliver the same experience?

A Trio of Summer Flavors - Krispy Kreme Carnival
Krispy Kreme Carnival Flavors 2021Some days I come home, make a low calorie meal, walk my dogs, and then pat myself on the back for making good, healthy, life choices. Other days I eat 4.5 carnival themed doughnuts in one night, slap together a video review, and then lay on the couch munching on carrots while it renders at 1am. It's all about balance.
Speaking of balance, I want to applaud Krispy Kreme for leaving the "c" in Carnival and not opting for a "K" to stay on-brand. 'Cause that's...that's just too many "k's." They knew it, and I knew it, so nobody went there and I am thankful for that. Kudos.
These carnival themed doughnuts are available as of yesterday (July 19th) until August 8th. Normally I am way behind on trends, and my food hunting days are pretty much over, but when there is a Krispy Kreme right next to the train you take for work and candyhunting posts that these just dropped...it's a sign. So, if you haven't already watched the video I posted on Tuesday, let's jump into some more in-depth reviews and photos!

Chocolate Popcorn m&m's...football themed?
Sometimes I surprise myself. I cannot tell you why I bought these. I mean, I like popcorn, but I usually hate popcorn flavored things, like Jelly Belly beans, maybe it was part of my impulsive pandemic purchasing?
I think I grabbed these at Wawa back along with that Apple Pie Kit-Kat and the Netflix themed ice cream. At the very least, it gives me something to review. So, will these be good? Bad? Or just plain weird?

The Dark Horse of The #MyOreoCreation Contest
I blink, and Oreo releases a boatload of newabominationsflavors.
I was going to ignore them (since I suck at blogging and all) but I had to run to target today to grab some ice cream sandwiches for my boyfriend. (It's a long story, but the short version is, Aldi was sold out.) I walk into Target, all determined to run to the freezer aisle, grab the sandwiches, and get our before my groceries in the car melt...and there it is.
A big ol' display with all three of the newest releases front and center. Their calorie-crushing siren song worked, and my 60 day diet has officially been drowned, but hey! I'm blogging again! (Woo!)
So let's find out if these gimmicky contest cookies are worth the calories!

QUICKIE: Holiday Sugar Cookie Cracker Jack
Even though Christmas has come and gone, I'm a sucker for a bargain foodie find. I spotted these in the 2 for a dollar snack bin at Walmart, so instead of committing to a BIG bag of something that will likely sit around in my snacking cabinet for ages, I can snack on this itty bitty bag instead for a quick and easy quick one-and-done review.

Popcorn Flavored Cocoa?
So this has been in my stash for ages, because I really didn't want to review it, but after trying the Buttered Popcorn Mike and Ike's I figured there was no better time than the present.
Since it's just a little hot cocoa packet there's not much for me to talk about as far as packaging, so let's skip the packaging portion of the review andget this over withget right down to it!

Mike and Ike Throwback Flavors from Dollar Tree
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Mine was great, but INTENSE. We're talking 4-days of non-stop family gatherings, cooking meals, and gift giving. It's fun, but I need a minimum of 2-days of no make-up and sweatpants to recover before the New Year festivities begin.
Since the flaming garbage heap that is 2016 is nearly over, I thought I should try and do a bit of stash busting to make room for new year goodies. First to the foodie chopping block? Some retro throwback flavors from Mike and Ike.

Pumpkin Spice Caramel Corn - Aldi
Sorry Christmas enthusiasts, I've got some lingering pumpkin goodies to knock out before moving on to all things mint and cocoa related. (Not to mention my personal vendetta against Santa for turning my Halloween clearance shopping into a winter wonderland ON Halloween. Not cool, Santa. Not cool.)
For today's post I've got some pumpkin spiced caramel corn from Aldi. To be honest I wasn't too keen on buying this, because I thought it was going to be another novelty pumpkin spice product that no one wanted to eat that would clutter up my kitchen cabinets, but it proved me wrong.

Time To Get Buck WILD - Youtube Video Review
I bought a bunch of stuff for my Memorial Day BBQ and I decided to review it before serving it to my guests, which is a little weird I guess, but I'm sure they didn't mind.
Both Tortilla chips were a hit, and the bags were empty by the end of the night, but I still have a little popcorn leftover.

New YouTube Video Review! Corn Flavored Corn!
Videos are back! Although my white balance was a bit off for these, I have some new video reviews. Right now one will be posted every week! (Horray!) To kick things off I have this corn-ception-y snack from Aldi. How can you make a corn product more...corny? Let's find out!

Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Holidrizzle Popcorn - Target
On our most recent episode of Candyology 101, Cybele and I noticed that a lot of candy companies were releasing peppermint themed sweets this year, which is a bit of a throwback to a wintery classic, but there were also a bunch of new Hot Cocoa themed products. For me, hot cocoa flavored sweets are in the same realm as the Red Velvet Cake ones. It's a novelty. I mean, what is hot cocoa? It's chocolate, melted into milk, with marshmallows. How can you recreate that into a snack without it just tasting like normal milk chocolate?
Even though I was skeptical, I just couldn't pass this product by.

Sriracha Lime Popcorn - Aldi
My updates have been really sporadic lately, and I don't like it. The main reason behind the lack of posts is that I'm having an incredibly hard time writing anything these days. I just can't seem to focus! Taking and editing food photos is super easy, I can do it with my eyes closed (not really), but when it comes to sitting down and sharing my thoughts in (semi-coherent) sentences...it's like pulling teeth!
I have tons of photos edited and ready to go, and plenty of new food products lined up in my queue, but when it comes to sitting down and actually writing everything out....I just can't seem to get it done! In an effort to try and force my way through this writing dilemma, I decided to breifly review something I've been munching on all week, this Sriracha Lime popcorn from Aldi.

Snacks 101 Baked Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Popcorn - Marshall's
Today's post is another one of my wacky Marshall's finds. I'm normally not a popcorn person, but the whole baked concept seemed really interesting, plus I love sweet and spicy snacks. (I've been reviewing a lot of candies and yogurts lately, so I'm really looking forward to this because it's so different.) Let's get started!

Boom Chicka Pop Lemon Drop Kettle Corn - Target: Marlton, NJ
Here's one of the goodies I scooped on on Easter clearance. I was originally going to buy one of those Peep-shaped lollipops, but this bag of popcorn was the same price. One lollipop versus a whole bag of popcorn? I think I made the right choice.
Every time I see this brand on the shelves I sing THIS song by Superbus inside my head. The brand name just fits into the song so well! "Boom-Chicka-Pop!" (I went to Paris for three days way back when I was in middle school, the best thing about my trip was watching the French version of MTV and learning about foreign pop music. If you like Tchi-Cum-Bah check out my favorite song, Lola)
Enough rambling and pop music, on to the review!

Angie's Pumpkin Spice Popcorn - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ
So far, reviewing a pumpkin/pumpkin spiced item every other day has been working out great! For the first two years of my pumpkin-specific food review galleries I ate/reviewed over 20 pumpkin products in a row, and it was just way too much pumpkin. After a while, everything starts to taste the same, so having this little break between seasonal foods has kept my pumpkin-palette from getting overwhelmed.
Today I have a new item, something I haven't reviewed before in any form, pumpkin spiced popcorn!

Cinema Snack- Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
This item has already been covered by a lot of food blogs, but I wanted to give it a try for myself (and I was craving ice cream), so let's see if this popcorn flavored dessert was worth the impulse buy!

J&D's Bacon Popcorn - Gift
I love bacon, but that doesn't mean I'm crazy enough to brush my teeth or bathe in it.
Like most delicious bad for you foods, this edible item has a cult following. In fact, bacon has practically become a novelty! You can buy bacon EVERYTHING! Don't get me wrong, I see the fun in all these novelty bacon items, and I am guilty of loving food scented candles and perfumes, but I'll stick to the real, edible, stuff.
Knowing my love for bacon, and that I have a this food blog, my boyfriendwho is more of a sausage person(Pfft, I swear I'm a mature 20+ year old) bought me this box of bacon flavored popcorn.
A lot of novelty products skimp on decent graphic design and aim for a more cartoon-y look, and this is the perfect example of that. The box art makes this look like more of a gag gift than a legitimately marketable product, but that may be the company's goal. It does catch the eye, which is a good thing, but it does so for all the wrong reasons. I mean bacon with a face on it? Actually it kind of looks like a bacon bow-tie... either way, it is pretty unappealing as far as a food item goes.
Something that makes this product a bit more interesting is the company's background. If you read the back of the box, or the popcorn bag, it tells you that the creators actually won money from America's Funniest Home Videos and used their winnings to create edible products, like Bacon Popcorn.
Enough talk, is this stuff actually edible?

Hot Buffalo Wing Chip'ins - Home Goods: Moorestown, NJ
Home Goods is more than fancy throw pillows and lamps, they get some of the most interesting foodie items! In the last two years I have bought jams that came in reusable European glassware, raw vegan kale chips, various seasonal coffees, and "vintage" sodas. What's next?
Buffalo wing flavored rice chips.
How does this seemingly normal home-themed store get a hold of this stuff? (Not that I am complaining. The kitchen supplies and foodie items are the only reason I even shop here.)
The bag's bold "blood orange" color is what initially caught my attention. Maybe this is a bit pretentious of me, but I thought the color was really sophisticated. (Anyone else watch Project Runway?)
Okay, on a more serious note, the color and faux crosshatching texture really did draw me in. Just look at this bag! The overall design is simple but playful. My only complaint was that I was a bit confused by the little chip accent. I wasn't sure if it really was an apostrophe, or if it was a stylized dot for the 'i." Not that that was really a problem, a 15 second Google search was all it took to find the site and see that it's an accent. (Also it showed me that there are other flavors out there.)
