French vs Icelandic - Yogurt De-stash Part 1

Yogurt is ugly.

No one posts a photo of -just- yogurt. It's always covered with photogenic toppings, layered with fruit and seeds, or used as an accent. It's in the same boat as oatmeal. Something you enjoy, but don't brag about.

That said, I've bought a decent amount of yogurt flavors, so here is part 1 of my (hopefully) fridge clearing-series.

Just keep Chewing - Yogurt3 Hi-Chew

Yogurt Drink Hi-Chew - Hung Vuong Market

I want buffalo chicken and Yakult flavored everything.

Yakult, is a tiny, sweet, yogurt-based probiotic drink popularized in America by the, "To All The Boys," series of movies. (Which I haven't seen.) They are easy to find in any Asian market, and there all all kinds of brands with their own takes on the drink and fruity flavor variations.

It's typical for me to go through foodie-flavor-phases, meaning I'll get really into something and consume it until I get absolutely sick of it, but this is a particularly unique combination. To satisfy my cravings I have made buffalo chicken dip, buffalo chicken soup (which was especially delicious), a buffalo chicken casserole, and I went to H-Mart and grabbed several packs of Yakult and these candies from Hung Vuong Market.

That said, these are not technically "Yakult" flavored candies, but we all know what they're going for.

Ah Chex Mix, We Meet Again - Strawberry Yogurt Simply Chex

Strawberry Yogurt Chex Mix
- Target
Did anyone else go through obsessive snacking phases as a teen, or was it just me? There was one summer I was absolutely obsessed with Herr's BBQ potato chips. I ate them until I was absolutely sick of them. I moved on to Pizza/Ranch Doritos which I ate religiously until they were discontinued. Then I became obsessed with Chex Mix for a few years, but this was back when it was new, in a blue and white bag, and it still had bagel chips. (I also think the pieces covered in extra seasoning were far more plentiful back then.) There is actually a fun rant about which pieces are the best in The Venture Bros. episode, A Very Venture Halloween.
The extra-seasoned rice Chex were my holy grail during snacking, I could easily demolish an entire bag while seeking them out. But, like the BBQ chips, eventually I made myself sick of it, so I moved on to something else.
During my Chex-Mix-less years, things changed. More flavors, both sweet and savory, have come and gone, and, as stated earlier, bagel chips are MIA in the original mix (but we still keep two different types of meh-flavored-pretzels? Blasphemy!)

I think I have only tried a handful of the different varieties. I remember a caramel turtle flavor, a chocolate one, and the bold mix (which I hoped was 100% extra seasoned pieces, so I was very disappointed when it wasn't). I think that's it, but honestly, none of the other flavors appealed to me. Even now, I bought this flavor on a complete whim. At best I had hopes this would taste like breakfast cereal, at worst? Chapstick or maybe NesQuik. So, will this be a new snacking obsession, or a regrettable impulse buy?

When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip!

Skittles Dips  - CVS

Things I have learned during quarantine: Vol 1
  1. My dark under eye circles are definitely genetic
  2. Adding potato chips to chocolate chip cookies is the best thing since sliced bread
  3. I don't like yogurt even half as much as the rest of the world
I have avoided trying these not-so-new yogurt-covered Skittles because I think yogurt covered anything is disgusting. I know it has it's fans, otherwise the trail mix section at the supermarket wouldn't be 50% yogurt-covered-whatevers, but I just don't get the appeal. It's as if someone looked at chocolate covered raisins and thought, how could I make this, but sadder? Yogurt!
Someone must have looked at Skittles and thought the same thing, because these now exist, and after seeing them consistently on my Instagram feed for months, I finally caved in and grabbed a pack.

A Hit and A Miss - The Yogurt Flavored Sweet-Tarts No One Ever Asked For

Lemon Candies  - Asian Food Markets
I'm alive~! I took a short (unscheduled) break, but I'm back at it again with the Tuesday & Thursday food posts and today's pick is a double feature with two different flavor variations of the same candy.
I picked these up during the great "Hoard everything 'cause Asian Food Market is closing forever," sale. Instead of the usual case of me being suckered in by pretty packaging, this time I was blinded by the fear of missing out. (Also known as FOMO but that sounds stupid.) I bought everything that I had never seen at other Asian markets, these candies included, and the results have been hit or miss. Mostly miss, if I'm being honest, but I regret nothing!

Chobani Greek Yogurt Pumpkin Harvest Crisp Flip - Target

Chobani Greek Yogurt Pumpkin Harvest Crisp Flip - Target
You know what we all need, MORE YOGURTS. Because the American market doesn't have enough protein-filled pumpkin flavored Greek yogurts this season. (Can you tell I'm bitter? I'm totally bitter.)

Raisin & Brown Sugar Chobani Oats - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

Raisin & Brown Sugar Chobani Oats - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
It didn't happen overnight, but I am slowly being converted to the Greek side. (Meaning Greek yogurt.) For the longest time Greek yogurt has been dominating the foodie world, and I still don't get it. Why is everyone so stuck on consuming massive amounts of protein? I'm not on a diet, and although I don't eat all much meat, I'm not protein deficit. So do I really need my yogurt to have protein in it?

Caramel Macchiato Greek Yogurt- Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ

Caramel Macchiato Greek Yogurt- Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
When all of the Greek yogurt hype started, I really thought it was a gimmick. I figured this was a way to get protein junkies to spend more cash on dairy, but I'm starting to really like this stuff. All these fancy flavors drew me in, like watermelon, and like a moth to the flame, I'm now a member of the Greek yogurt cult. (Do we get track suits?)

I reviewed the Bananas Foster version last week, which had pretty much the same packaging, so I am skipping my usual design discussion, so let's get right into the review.

Trader Joe's Peanut Butter & Jelly Yogurt - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ

Trader Joe's Peanut Butter & Jelly Yogurt - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ
Oh hey, it's that thing I saw on the internet!

Greek yogurts are still super popular, and I'm slowly but surely being converted to the Greek side with their yummy cinnamon bun, rhubarb, watermelon, and banana flavorings, so I just had to give this a try. I mean it's a yogurt flavored like a sandwich? As a food blogger I'd feel like a failure if I didn't check something like this out. Plus I pass Trader Joe's on my way home from work every single day. It's a sign. I had to have to yogurt.

Noosa Strawberry Rhubarb Greek Yogurt - Target: Marlton, NJ

Noosa Strawberry Rhubarb Greek Yogurt - Target: Marlton, NJ
Rhubarb! Oh man, this is a flavor I don't see too often, but I have no idea why. I absolutely love it! Why aren't there more strawberry rhubarb things in the foodie world? I've had Noosa yogurts before, so I have really high hopes for this one!

First here's a little rundown on Rhubarb since it's something a lot of people aren't familiar with it.

Limited Edition Yoplait Chocolate Mint Yogurt- Target: Cherry Hill, NJ (Quickie Review)

Limited Edition Yoplait Chocolate Mint Yogurt- Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
It's been a long week, and I thought something like this would be a yummy but healthy treat that might satisfy my mint chocolate chip ice cream craving. How wrong I was...

Chobani Concord Grape Limited Batch Greek Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin, NJ

Chobani Concord Grape Limited Batch Greek Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin, NJ
It's been a while since I reviewed a Chobani flavor, I think the last one I did was the deliciously refreshing Watermelon last August, and I saw that there are currently two new flavors in their Limited Batch line, Green Tea and Concord Grape. I'm sure those some like amazing flavors to some of you, but to me, they are foodie nightmare-fuel. I am not a fan of grape flavored anything due to my childhood experiences with grape flavored medicine, and green tea is a little too earthy for my tastes. (I prefer black tea.) Neither of these appealed to me personally, but my curiosity got the better of me. After all, I've never had a grape flavored yogurt before. Maybe it could be amazing! I decided to take a risk on this one and into my handcart it went.

Limited Edition Yoplait Coconut Caramel Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin,NJ

Limited Edition Yoplait Coconut Caramel Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin,NJ
Another fancy limited edition yogurt review? Don't worry, I'm not going to start pimping yogurt like Jamie Lee Curtis (or Shakira?), I bought this because this flavor combination sounded suspiciously like the Samoa/Caramel deLites cookie sold by the Girl Scouts.

I'm kind of a cookie snob, and I usually prefer homemade, but whatever name they go by, those caramel and coconut cookies sold outside of grocery stores are really delicious and they are the only flavor I will buy once cookie season starts up. With that being said, I saw this yogurt, thought of the cookie, and wanted to see if this could be a healthy way to satisfy a cookie craving.

Limited Edition Yoplait Cinnamon Roll Greek Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin,NJ

Limited Edition Yoplait Cinnamon Roll Greek Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin,NJ
There have been so many new yogurts released this month, I wasn't sure where I should start, but when I saw this, I new I had to try it. Cinnamon buns are one of my favorite sweets. When they are soft, and warm, and when the icing is still all runny, they turn any bad day into a good one. I rarely get to have them, and I've been craving one really badly, so let's see if this Greek yogurt can satisfy my stomach. (That's what these are meant to do, right? They act as a healthier alternative to eating the real deal. So I'll put it to the test today.)

Pumpkin Froyo - Gift: Frusen Berri (Quickie Review)

Pumpkin Froyo - Gift: Frusen Berri
I am going to try and knock out a bunch of pumpkin items tonight when I get home from work, but I'm finally able to see the light at the end of the pumpkin tunnel!

For today's post I have some fro-yo that was given to me...a little while ago. As you'll see, it has a few ice crystals cause it's been in my fridge longer than it should have, but I didn't want it to go to waste, so I'm gonna review it anyway.

Siggi's Pumpkin Spice Yogurt - Target: Marlton, NJ

Siggi's Pumpkin Spice Yogurt - Target: Marlton, NJ
Long time no see everyone! I've been suffering from some stress related stomach issues, so I haven't eaten much this week. (In fact, prior to this, I only had a pineapple green tea from Starbucks and a mini Halloween-sized Crunch bar.) Thankfully, I queued up some reviews last weekend before I got sick, but I ran out mid-way through last week.

When I have a lot going on, all of that stress goes right to my stomach, and I feel extremely nauseous, making it nearly impossible to eat and keep food down. It's been a few days since my last post and even though my stomach is still acting up, I have to eat, and the reviews must go on. I figured I'd kick things off with something healthy and mild, this Pumpkin and Spice yogurt from Siggi's.

Okay, here we go, time to get back into the swing of things and get these pumpkin reviews outta here!

Target Exclusive Noosa Pumpkin Yoghurt - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

Target Exclusive Noosa Pumpkin Yoghurt - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
I still have so many pumpkin items to review and I'm running out of time! I'm going to stick to my current schedule for now, where I post pumpkin reviews every other day, but I won't be reviewing any more pumpkin items in December. So, if I still have things to review come Nov 30th, I'll have to have a massive pumpkin posting party. (Although I think I might be able to squeeze everything in. This might be my largest collection of pumpkin items yet!)

Oikos Pumpkin Pie Greek Yogurt - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

Oikos Pumpkin Pie Greek Yogurt - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ
I still don't really understand the obsession behind Greek yogurt, but every yogurt brand came out with a Greek seasonal flavor, and with all of my pumpkinpocalypse reviews, it was only a matter of time before I reviewed one of them. Since I enjoyed the Bananas Foster flavor I reviewed a few days ago, I decided to go with Oikos' pumpkin pie yogurt.

Quickie Review - Banana Chia Pod- Wegman's?

Banana Chia Pod- Wegman's?
Look at this adorable little package! I can't remember where I picked this up (I think it was Wegman's ?), but I'm really excited to give this a try.
