Ice Cream Candy Canes, For a Dollar...I'm Skeptical - Coldstone Creamery Candy Canes

Coldstone Candy Canes
- Dollar Tree

Another Dollar Tree find, I grabbed these because I thought they looked pretty, and for only a dollar, why not?

Right away the packaging is questionable. Sure, we have Coldstone logos that are legit, but the packaging and design are done in a way that the logo on the bottom left of the package is obscured by the packaging itself. Not a great sign in terms of quality.

Inside you get 6 candy canes, two of each flavor.

The flavors are: Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Our Strawberry Blonde, and Birthday Cake Remix. All classic Coldstone Creamery flavors.

Peppermint Crunch Junior Mints - Target? (I think...)

Peppermint Crunch Junior Mints Target? (I think...)
One more day until the weekend. Just one more day. We can do this...I can do this.
It's been another really intense week with my day job and side-work, for a closer look at all the stuff I do besides food blogging check out my personal/art blog HERE, but for now, let's dig into my giant food-stash for a minty, Christmas-y, #tbt review!

Peppermint Oreo - Target

Peppermint Oreo - Target
I'm all for these snazzy limited edition Oreos, but this one seems like overkill. I mean, there's the normal green-filled mint flavored Oreos available year-round, a thin version of the same flavor, these limited edition Candy Cane themed ones I reviewed a few years back, and now a Peppermint? Is peppermint distinct enough from classic mint to warrant it's own flavor? I guess we'll find out!

Trader Joe-Joe's (Candy Cane) - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ

Trader Joe-Joe's (Candy Cane ) - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ
Happy New Year everyone! So a wrench was kind of thrown into the works last night, and I didn't get to be at my PC like I originally planned. I already had all the photos edited and ready to go, so I"ll be posting a few reviews today, and I'll be posting some new items in my etsy shop. Although I don't really make New Year's resolutions, I am trying to kick off 2015 by being super productive, so let's get this review started!

Swedish Fish Candy Canes - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ

Swedish Fish Candy Canes - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ
I actually bought this on a whim and hadn't planned on reviewing it, but they were so interesting, I decided to cobble together a review anyway. I have a big bottle of Swedish Fish "Gummy" vodka, so when I saw these in the seasonal aisle at Wegman's I thought this might make a fun, and edible, garnish/stir-stick for some mixed drinks. I tossed the box into my cart and off I went.

Candy Cane Trident Layers - Target: Marlton, NJ

Candy Cane Trident Layers - Target: Marlton, NJ
I'm running out of time! I'm going to knock out as many holiday reviews as I can this week! Next up, some seasonal gum! Will this really taste any different than all the other peppermint chewing gums out there?

Merry MEGA Buttons (Holiday Flavors) - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ

Merry MEGA Buttons (Holiday Flavors) - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ
Sometimes you see a candy and you know it's going to be bad, but for some reason, you buy it anyway. This is one of those candies.

This was one of those cheap novelty holiday candies that was piled up in the seasonal aisle, and if it weren't for the sugar cookie flavored button, there was no way I was going to buy this. If memory serves, I think this was a dollar, so I figured, why not review it and have a laugh? So into the cart it went.

Jelly Belly Holiday Favorites (Pumpkin Pie) - Target: Marlton, NJ

Jelly Belly Holiday Favorites - Target: Marlton, NJ

Back to pumpkin posts! (Kinda.) There's a pumpkin pie bean in here, but I figured I would just review the entire bag and get it posted before the holidays are over. Let's see if any of these beans can live up to the real thing!

Limited Edition Seasonal Oreos have Returned!

Both the of the limited edition Oreos from last year have returned!

Gingerbread Oreos are back at Walmart! Check out last year's review HERE
Not to be outdone, these Candy Cane Oreos are available at Target stores! Check out last year's review HERE.
Out of the two, I think the Gingerbread are definitely the ones to get. They are a unique flavor that only comes around once a year. If you want a minty Oreo fix you can always go with their classic mint version.

Candy Cane Peeps Dipped in Chocolate - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

Candy Cane Peeps Dipped in Chocolate
- Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
Although I was excited for the sugar cookie Peeps (also dipped in chocolate) I couldn’t find them this year. Instead, I found the candy cane variety.
The package is small, it only holds three Peeps, but that is the perfect amount for decorating a gingerbread house.
When I opened the package I couldn’t smell any mint, but I could smell chocolate. The chocolatey aroma is sweet with a hint of cocoa powder.

CandyCane Oreos - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

CandyCane Oreos - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
Oreo released two different limited edition flavors for the holidays. Walmart got the gingerbread variety I reviewed before, and Target got these candy cane ones.
Target seems to get the better packaging every time. They have the bags that reseal at the top and allow the tray to slide out. I like these bags a lot more, but both get the job done.
The cookies have a light minty scent, much sweeter than the normal mint Oreos, these have a lot more vanilla in the aroma. The creme inside is two toned, like the candy corn flavor released this fall, and there are little sprinkles to add a crunchy texture.
These taste very sweet and mild, I like these a lot more than the gingerbread. (But I am VERY picky when it comes to gingerbread.) These are definitely more of a candy cane peppermint, than a straight up mint flavor.

Candy Cane Pop Rocks - Michael’s : Moorestown, NJ

Candy Cane Pop Rocks - Michael’s : Moorestown, NJ
I teach art and Spanish to kids (2.5-5 years old) every Wednesday, so while I was buying some craft supplies, I also picked up some holiday candy.
The packaging SCREAMS Christmas. It’s bright red, with candy cane stripes down the sides and pine trees scattered about. I don’t think they could have made it any brighter. The package borders on being cheery, or obnoxious.
I opened up the packet expecting the candy to smell like peppermint, but is smells fruity. I can smell artificial cherry with a slight hint of mint. That was a little disappointing. I was really looking forward to peppermint Pop Rocks. I usually dislike fruity flavors paired with mint, but maybe it won’t taste fruity?
