10 Dollar Skull Suckers and Fizzy Brains (Skull Chupa Chups from Japan)

Skull Chupa Chups from Japan eBay 9.99
$10 for a tiny bag of imported lollipops? What can I say? My frugal foodie nature was thrown out the window the second I laid eyes on this packaging.
I nearly talked myself out of them, but it was the last bag on eBay, so I quickly rationalized this purchase as being a little treat to celebrate my birthday (last Friday) and my new job (starting Tuesday.) Turns out, they were worth every penny...

Cute Packaging AND Pear flavored candy? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

Pop Candy Peko Chan Lollipops (Pear Flavor) -  Asian Food Market $3.99
Peko chan is back with more lollipop flavors! Well, just one new flavor, but it's an interesting one!
Last year I reviewed the insanely adorable Halloween version of these lollipops which included the standard grape, strawberry, and orange flavored candies which are also included in this bag. To see my thoughts on the original fruity trio, check out last year's review. This time around I'm only going to focus on the new, green-colored flavor addition: Pear!

#TBT Pop Candy Halloween Special Lollipops - H-Mart

Pop Candy Halloween Special Lollipops  #TBT H-Mart
Things are getting spoopy! (And that's no typo.)
The day before Halloween I went to H-mart and found a bunch of freaking adorable Halloween goodies. This is pretty rare, because the Asian markets in the area typically don't usually carry seasonal products, and when they do they're usually really out of season, but this was right on time! I was so excited about it that I recorded a Halloween Haul video right before hosting my Halloween party.
One of the candies I picked up back then were these lollipops, and I absolutely loved the packaging. While at H-mart this week, buying more kitchen staples like hoisin sauce and seasoned rice vinegar, I saw that they were still in stock, and better yet, on sale!

Cute fruit lollipops that are Halloween-themed AND cheap? Needless to say...I bought 2 more bags, so I figured I'd post a more in depth review.

Dum•Dums Heart Pops - Target

Dum•Dums Heart Pops - Target
Every time I buy a Dum-Dums product I get the song from their 90's commercial stuck in my head. Looking back, I feel like that commercial and the Blow Pop one were always being shown on Nickelodeon! I can still recite them both from heart, along with the kickass song from the Crossfire commercial!
Dum-Dums lollipops have been around for quite some time but they aren't letting their brand get stale. They've been having some fun releasing pizza, bacon, and buttered popcorn flavored lollipops, some jelly bean centered candies for Easter, and now these new Heart-shaped pops offer two flavors in one.

Shane Confectionery #3 - Philadelphia, PA

 Shane Confectionery
- Philadelphia, PA

This is my last post on Shane Confectionery. (Until I go visit the Oh Sugar exhibit in Philadelphia.)

I have already reviewed 6 classic butter-cream chocolates, read those posts HERE and HERE, which were all made on site in Philadelphia using classic candy making equipment. Today I'll be reviewing this gourmet lollipop and showing you a few photos of the store itself.

Shane Confectionery is a little candy shop that makes you feel as if you've gone back in time. Advertized as the oldest continuously-run candy store in America, it has been producing sweets for a little over a century! The current owners have done their best to recreate a candy eating experience worthy of the early 1900's, and they have done a splendid job. Looking around the store you can see that everything, from the decor, to the cash registers, is vintage.

Yummy Earth Vitamin C lollipops - Home Goods: Moorestown, NJ

Yummy Earth Vitamin C lollipops - Home Goods: Moorestown, NJ
Next up, Pomegranate Pucker.
In my last Yummy Earth post I mentioned that there are 4 different “red” flavors (raspberry, cherry, strawberry, and pomegranate) and how that can be a little confusing/frustrating. Here is a perfect example of what I meant, this Pomegranate Pucker looks JUST like Razzmatazz Berry. Both flavors are the same exact shade of red, and the wrappers are both printed in the same red ink.
Since it is literally the exact same color as the previous flavor I reviewed, my photo looked the same as last weeks. (Which is why I left it out.) So if you were seeking out a specific flavor… the similarities could be a bit annoying.
This time the candy has a tangier, sour, smell. The scent reminds me of cranberry juice more than pomegranates, but it was still very appealing.
From the smell I was expecting the candy to be sour, but it was actually very sweet. The candy tastes more like a sweetened pomegranate cocktail than real pomegranates, but it is a very sophisticated. There are deep berry notes that actually make this taste more like a jam than a lollipop, and overall I was really impressed with the flavor.
So far this is my favorite of the bunch. This pomegranate lollipop has a deep, rich, flavor that I think a lot of adults would really enjoy.

Hello Kitty Lollipop Ring - ???

Hello Kitty Lollipop Ring - ???
Another gift from my boyfriend, so I am not sure where this came from.
The package is VERY pink and sparkly. There is a picture of the lollipop on the package, and it looks like it should be Hello Kitty shaped.
We’ll see how she looks. Have any of you ever seen those character shaped ice cream bars? They NEVER look like they are supposed to and most of the time they look like nightmares.
