Demogorgon Nuggets, Ethically Sourced and Fresh from the Upside-Down

Demogorgon Nuggets - Ethically Sourced

This product makes no sense within the context of the show, as far as I know none of the characters are vegan and no one ever mentions wanting chicken nuggets, BUT the box art went so hard with it's attempts to tie into the show that I kind of love it.

Red Curry Noodle Soup - Aldi

Red Curry Noodle Soup - Aldi
Last week was intense! Between my 9-5 graphic design day job, house hunting, being a guest artist at a local school, teaching 4-art lessons there (kindergarten, 1st, 3rd & 6th), attending a wedding, and running my Etsy shop...I barely had any time to sleep, let alone blog. On the bright side, I may have finally found a new place to live! (Fingers crossed! Please send me all your good house-buying vibes!)
I have a few hours of free time tonight, so I'm going to type up as many reviews as I can and schedule them to post this week. No more missed days!!
It's been really rainy and gloomy here in NJ, since fall has hit us like a ton of bricks, so I have some warm and soothing soup for today's #meatlessmonday desk lunch.

#Meatless Monday Vegetable Curry with Vegetarian Strips

Indian Curry Vegetable Meal with Vegetarian Strips - Aldi Meatless Monday $2.99
Aldi likes to release a bunch of products all related to the traditional flavors of one area of the world. In the past we've seen them visit Greece, Italy, Mexico and Germany, but right now their latest collection is inspired by the flavors of India.
This isn't Aldi's first collection inspired by India, but it's the first time I've seen it show up with this much variety. They're currently offering curry-based soups, Tikka Masala meal kits, cooking sauces, and various freezer meals. It's been a very VERY long week for me, and even though I like to cook homemade meals on the weekends, I caved and bought a bunch of frozen meals from Aldi instead. (They're vegetarian friendly so I can share them with my boyfriend!)
For today's #MeatlessMonday post, I heated up one of Aldi's frozen vegetarian curry meals for my boyfriend and I. It has something called "vegetarian strips" in it, which look suspiciously like tofu, so we'll see how this one pans out.

My PC is back from the dead!

Welp, my PC died Thursday night, and it took me (and my amazing friend Anthony who is a technological angel) all weekend to get it back up and running. It started with my CPU fan dying and turned into a whole mess of problems. Fun times.
Now that my PC (I named her Synergy, get the reference?) is back from the dead I'm writing up reviews to get things back on track, but in the meantime, you can see what I ate this weekend by visiting my Instagram page, @SometimesFoodie.

What I Ate Last Night

Delicious veggie-goodness for dinner last night. The veggies, the veggie burgers, soda and brioche buns all came from Aldi! I think the only part of this meal that wasn't from Aldi was the salad dressing and the cheese. I'd like to do some more recipes in the future using Aldi produce with pricing totals, because I think it could be a lot of fun and it could shatter some misconceptions about Aldi, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time...we'll see what the future holds.

Insta-Foodie: What I ate on Sunday

If you're not following me on Instagram, you're missing out on all the stuff I've been munching on behind the scenes.

Along with massive amounts of junk food I share on the blog, I also like to cook and bake, so here's what I made on Sunday for my boyfriend and I. (He's vegetarian, so a lot of the food I've been eating/cooking lately is meatless, since I personally feel uncomfortable eating meat when we're together, but rest assured, I still love bacon and buffalo wings. I'm an omnivore with strong lean to the veggie side.)

Marty's Cracklin' (Vegetarian) Spicy Vinegar Flavor - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Marty's Cracklin' (Vegetarian) Spicy Vinegar Flavor - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ
Happy Meatless Monday everyone!

I've been doing the whole Meatless Monday thing for a few months, and it's been awesome. I come home from work, make a giant fancy salad, and munch on other healthier items throughout the day. It's super easy, makes me feel like I'm being a lot more healthy, and it takes all the guesswork out of Monday night's dinner. (Plus I tell myself that it balances out all the junk food I eat for reviews, but we all know that's a lie.) I typically go with giant salads for dinner, which I post over on my Instagram account like the obnoxious food-porn junkie I am, but lately I have been looking for interesting vegetarian snacks to munch on at my 9-5 job, and due to my obsession with vinegar, I just couldn't resist trying these crisps.

Garden, Meatless BBQ "Chicken" Wings - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

Garden, Meatless BBQ "Chicken" Wings - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
I'm not a vegetarian, I think my love of bacon cheese burgers makes that pretty obvious, but I like a lot of vegetarian restaurants and foods. (Here's a fun fact: My boyfriend was actually a vegetarian when we met in college. He had been one for several years but he stopped due to poor health.)

He and I were at Target the other night and we saw a little package of these BBQ "chicken" wings. They were 50% off, and we were hungry, the perfect combination, so into the cart they went.
Visually this bag is really refreshing. The combination of crisp white with yellow, green, and black is very visually appealing. (Plus the colors stimulate feelings of hunger.)
