Innovation? Or Dud? - Reese's Big Cup with Pretzels

Reese's Big Cup With Pretzels - Walmart

Can you improve a Reese's Cup? It's so perfect as-is, that I really thought there was no way it could get any better, until the Reese's Pieces stuffed cups showed up and completely won me over. The addition of Pieces didn't change the overall flavor, it was more-so a textural change, but I was 100% into it. With that in mind, I was very excited about this pretzel version (and a limited run potato chip version that has yet to be released), since this would not only change the texture, but add some pretzel-y flavoring to the mix as well.

Adding pretzels and potato chips to pretty much anything has become one of my favorite baking hacks. (All those broken little bits in the bottom of the bag? Dump it to your next batch of chocolate chip cookies and thank me later!) So, will adding pretzels make this better than a standard Reese's?

Sweet and Salty Cinnamon Sugar Sensation

Cinnamon Pretzel Pop-Tarts  - Shop Rite
Safe to say it has been a ROUGH couple of months. I am slowly putting my life back together and one of the pieces of that puzzle is getting back into writing reviews. Right now I am aiming for posting on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a few YouTube videos when I can. Let's see how this goes!
As always, I have a pretty decent backlog to work through, which is good because with all this COVID stuff I am trying to stay house-bound as much as possible, so let's kick things off with a Pop-Tart!

Take it all in. (That's what she said?)

American Globs Big Gay Ice Cream - Wawa
Big Gay Ice Cream is a company that's been on my foodie-radar for years I mean, they're an ice cream brand that have a theme song written by Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go's! (Also she was Joan of Arc in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, which I love.) Popculture, cool graphics, and (potentially) yummy ice cream? I had to try it!
They have ice cream trucks, brick and mortar locations, and sell ice cream pints in a handful of locations across the nation with one being right across the bridge from Jersey...but we all know that I never go anywhere. (I don't know how you other foodies have any energy for all that traveling!)
Being the hermit I am, I longingly watched from afar as their brand grew and grew. Guess what? They started selling pints at Wawa! So, being the multi-tasker I am, I filled up my gas tank and grabbed a few pints to finally satisfy my snacking curiosity.

Quickie Review: Hershey Snack Mix -BJ's

Hershey Snack Mix -BJ's
Back in June of 2016 I reviewed the Reese's version of this snack Mix and now, EIGHT months later, I've finally gotten around to the Hershey's version. (At this rate I'll review the other candy-bar-themed mixes within the next 5 years.) Anyway, when I reviewed the Reese's version I wasn't sure if I'd ever buy it again and nearly a year later, and I haven't!

Maybe the Hershey's version will be a better flavor for me. Let's hope so, because I foolishly bought a big ol' box of this from BJ's because I had a coupon. (And I'm a sucker for a bargain.)

Snackbusters - 3 Flavors of Organic Brownie Brittle

If there's something weird
And it don't look good
Who you gonna call
Snackbusters!
I'm back again with another stash busting post, this time I have three different flavors of Brownie Brittle, and they're all Organic! Will being organic make it less addicting and flavorful than normal Brownie Brittle? Can healthier junkfood still taste good? Time to find out!
The packaging for all three bags in the same, so there's not much ground for me to cover there, so I'm going to focus on taste for this trio of crispy crunchy brownie goodness.

Honey Mustard & Pretzel Goldfish - Target

Honey Mustard & Pretzel Goldfish - Target
My little sister loved Goldfish crackers growing up, but I was more of a Cheez-it or Cheese Nip kind of girl. Honestly, I always felt like Goldfish were a blander, fish-shaped, version of the cheesy square-crackers I loved, and that they were meant for little kids, so I didn't really give them the time of day, until they started coming out with all of these new flavors.
There's been cheeseburger flavored fish, vanilla cupcake, french toast, and even more mature cheese flavors. The list is ever growing. It's nice to see this company trying new things to keep up with all the other food products out there, and even though I was never a Goldfish fan, the foodie in me just couldn't resist the allure of these new fancy flavors. I've always had a thing for flavored pretzel pieces, like Snyders, so I figured, why not give this new cracker and pretzel flavor combination a try?

Auntie Anne's Ham & Cheese Pretzel Pocket Sandwich - Gift

Auntie Anne's Ham & Cheese Pretzel Pocket Sandwich - Gift
I've been crazy busy these last few months.

I'm working on tons of things for two upcoming anime/comic conventions that I'll be selling at, I'm trying to update Youtube at least once a week, I'm doing blog posts here on Sometimes Foodie every day, and we've got another one of our Candyology101 podcasts this weekend. Not to mention working my 9-5 day job and trying to figure out my transportation for the Summer Fancy Food Show. (Which is in 10 days! Oh god! So soon!) I think it's safe to say, tonight's a lazy dinner kind of a night. I earned it.

Pretzel Buns - Aldi - Cherry Hill, NJ

Pretzel Buns - Aldi - Cherry Hill, NJ
Man, what a crazy busy weekend. I got so much done, but I didn't really rest or sleep properly, so I'm going back to work (in a few hours) more tired than when I left. I don't have time to finish formatting my original review for tonight, so I thought I'd take some time to mention something I've been eating the last few weeks.

This isn't so much an individual item review as it is an ingredient, but it's something I've been enjoying, so I figured it was post-worthy.
