Project 7 Front Porch Lemonade Gum - JoAnn Fabrics

Project 7 Front Porch Lemonade Gum - JoAnn Fabrics
I had been trying to track down these Project 7 chewing gums for almost a year. The packaging is so clean, and all the other food bloggers were posting about them, and I (like the foodie sheep that I am) wanted to check them out too. Since I try really hard not to buy food or candy online, I was scouring the grocery stores hoping to find these, and back in January I finally found them! At Jo Ann Fabrics of all places! I started out with the Birthday Cake version (which was reviewed here) but thankfully more and more flavors are popping up here in Jersey, so now I have this beautiful summery lemonade to review!

These days a lot of American chewing gum comes in a punch-out package, or some kind of jar/container, but this is a foil-lined plastic zip-lock bag. It doesn't take up much room, it doesn't get ugly and beat up in my pocket or purse, and it's resealable. I really like it, but it's a bit tricky to share this product with other people without getting their hands all over it. That doesn't bother me, since I'm a gum-hoarder and I usually don't share with anyone anyway, but those of you who are adamant about sanitary sweets might want to stick the the sterile metal-punch-out packages. For me, this is a lot less waste, and it's really handy, so I love it. Plus, the design is clean and fresh. It has that cool hipster drinking lemonade with mint out of a mason jar feel, without being overly preachy or obnoxious. This brand works with a LOT of non-profit organizations, and if you're interested in reading more about that, check out their mission page. For now, I'm just going to stick to the gum review.
I popped a piece into my mouth and started chewing. It has a thin crunchy shell, and a really refreshing flavor! This gum is nicely balanced between powdered lemonade mix and homemade, which is way more authentic than the pink lemonade Bubblicious I grew up with. Plus, the citrus flavoring hides the artificial sweetener really well. It honestly tastes like actual lemonade. (The bottled kind, not home squeezed.)
After chewing this for 10-15 minutes, the flavoring dramatically fades and the artificial sweetener starts to come through, so I can only chew this for 20-30 minutes tops before I feel the need to spit it out, which seems to be the normal lasting time for most chewing gums I've reviewed. I wish the flavoring lasted even longer, but this is one of the most refreshing chewing gums I've ever had! (Way better than the Birthday Cake version.)

This gum is sweet, a little tangy, refreshing, and summery. I love it! I'm not sure if this is a permanent flavor or something specifically for summer, but I'll definitely be repurchasing this one. Maybe I'll even stock up on a few packs, that way I can have a little taste of summer all year long.

NOTE: Also there's a freaking snow cone flavor out there somewhere! And a Watermelon Grapefruit?!? I gotta find them. I don't want to buy a whole case of 12. ;_;

    1. It does! I really hope I can find it and review it before August is out, but so far I've had no luck. ;_;
