Stuff Your Face - Aldi Turkey & Stuffing Chips

Clancy's Turkey & Stuffing Wavy Chips - Aldi

Stuffing chips aren't really a "new" item, Boulder came out with a whole awesome Thanksgiving in a bag theme with cranberry, stuffing, turkey & gravy, and pumpkin pie back in 2014, and I think I reviewed them...but maybe I never got around to it. Anyway, they were awesome.

This year we have a few copycats. Trader Joe's has a Thanksgiving themed Kettle Chip, Pringles has a Thanksgiving Diner set, Mackie's of Scotland has a bag of Turkey and Stuffing Crisps, and now Aldi has these Turkey and Stuffing wavy chips. Each one is different, in it's own way, but they all follow a similar flavor-theme.

The bag design for this flavor screams "Trader Joe's" to me, it's kind of busy, with faux textured fonts and overlapping images. It's not my favorite to look at, but that plate of Thanksgiving food is certainly calling my name. I don't know what it is, but this year more than ever I am craving holiday dinner foods. I just can't seem to get enough cranberry sauce and stuffing, so let's hope these chips deliver.

Once opened, the chips inside smell kind of like sour cream and onion mixed with turkey Stove Top stuffing seasoning. It's a familiar aroma, and certainly appealing.

The chips look very unassuming, they pretty much look like normal wavy chips with only the faintest flecks or green and brown flavoring, but man...are they good.

These are so addicting. Upon first bite, the flavoring seems really mild. It is very reminiscent of sour cream and onion chips, which I also love, but then the seasonal flavors start to build up. The more you eat, the more the stuffing seasonings shines. As a stuffing fiend, I am very pleased. But, if you were eating these hoping for more of a turkey experience, you might find yourself disappointed.

I can taste potato chip, salt, sour cream, onion, celery, garlic, and sage. In that order. Towards the very end there is a bit of a turkey gravy-like flavor, but for the most part these are stuffing chips. I have absolutely no problem with that.

When I spotted these something inside me said, "grab two bags." Which is rare for me, I usually don't like to buy multiples of new products incase it ends up being disappointing, but in this case, I am so glad I did. My local Aldi is already annihilated. Not a bag, or a box, or a price tag from these to be found. They disappeared without a trace in less than a week! Now scammers are selling bags on eBay for $15.00 a pop! I swear, people are the worst.

If you're lucky enough to spot these, grab a bag, and if you're a stuffing fiend like me, grab two, but don't be the jerk who buys them all and sells them on eBay. Here's hoping these come back next year!
