A Tall, Cold, Glass of...Vinegar?

Hong Cho - H-mart (Came with a FREE reusable bottle!)
I love vinegar! In my early 20's I had intense stress-related stomach issues that put me out of commission for several months, and the cure? Vinegar! (And less stress. I love vinegar, but let's not be click-bait-y. It's not a cure all!)
It's popular to use vinegar for pickling, sauces, and dressings, but I straight up drink it! I'm sure that sounds weird to most people, but I'm not alone!

Japanese Screaming Intense Super Sour Plum Candy

Japanese Screaming Intense Super Sour Plum Candy - Asian Food Market $1.79
Sorry for the hiccups in posting. House-buying and moving stuff has my after-work hours pretty tied up these days, but we're closing THIS FRIDAY! I'll finally get the keys and the place will be mine! Hooray!! It still needs a lot of repairs, and cleaning, before I can move in, but I'm a home owner! Which is definitely something worth screaming about.

So, let's celebrate with some Screaming Intense candy! (Will I be able to handle it?)

Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar - Blue Moon: Collingswood, NJ

Strawberry Balsamic Vinegar - Blue Moon: Collingswood, NJ
Blue Moooon, you saw me standing alone, without a bottle in my hand, now I've got one of my own. Okay, enough of that. (I'm sorry, that was so lame. I've been listening to a lot of older music lately and I couldn't resist.)
Back to our regularly scheduled food blog!
Today I've got a little something from one of my favorite local shops, Blue Moon! I know there's a really popular beer company with the same name, but this is something completely different. (Plus I hate beer.) The Blue Moon I'm talking about is a cute little shop in Collingswood that sells fancy olive oils and balsamic vinegars.

Get ready for a rant and a story under the cut.

Boulder Canyon Avocado Oil Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt Chips - Target: Marlton, NJ

Boulder Canyon Avocado Oil Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt Chips - Target: Marlton, NJ
That may have been one of the longest product titles I've ever typed.

I think most of you have caught onto this by now, but I'm a sucker for cheap products and saving money. Whenever I'm at Target I check out the clearance food, which is usually on an end-cap somewhere in the grocery section, to see if I can scoop up any awesome marked down items to review. Usually the end-caps are filled with random odds and ends, like flavored tomato sauces (which are somehow always there), seasonal candy, and flavored coffees, but every now and again I score something really awesome to review. Today's score are these chips that are fried using avocado oil, sounds pretty neat right? Let's check it out.

Marty's Cracklin' (Vegetarian) Spicy Vinegar Flavor - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Marty's Cracklin' (Vegetarian) Spicy Vinegar Flavor - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ
Happy Meatless Monday everyone!

I've been doing the whole Meatless Monday thing for a few months, and it's been awesome. I come home from work, make a giant fancy salad, and munch on other healthier items throughout the day. It's super easy, makes me feel like I'm being a lot more healthy, and it takes all the guesswork out of Monday night's dinner. (Plus I tell myself that it balances out all the junk food I eat for reviews, but we all know that's a lie.) I typically go with giant salads for dinner, which I post over on my Instagram account like the obnoxious food-porn junkie I am, but lately I have been looking for interesting vegetarian snacks to munch on at my 9-5 job, and due to my obsession with vinegar, I just couldn't resist trying these crisps.

Super Umeboshi - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Super Umeboshi - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ
I found another one of the 'Super" candies by Nobel in my area, and this time it's a rare one! Well, rare for New Jersey anyway. I can find Super Lemon in every Asian convenience store, and occasionally I see Super Cola, but Super Umeboshi? Not so much.

In case you didn't know, umeboshi are salted picked plums. They are often shown in bento boxes, on top of a bed of rice, or in the center of an onigiri. I had seen them in popular manga and anime, so my sister and I bought some a few years ago to try it for ourselves. I tried the real-deal, and let me tell you, it's a bold flavor! I actually liked it, but my sister wasn't much of a fan. I'm not sure how popular it in Asia, but I can't see a candy flavored like a salty pickled plum selling all that well here in the states. Anyway, I found it at H-Mart, and it was the last bag too.

Kombucha Wonder Drink (Cherry Cassis) - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ

Kombucha Wonder Drink (Cherry Cassis) - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
I learned about Kombucha a few years ago in one of EmmymadeinJapan's videos. Since then, I've noticed several brands being sold at the Asian Markets I frequent, but I never felt compelled to pick a bottle up for myself. From what I understand it's a fermented tea, and that doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy. (I hate beer and other fermented stuff so I figured I'd pass on it.)  Recently, I've noticed that Kombucha has been making it's way into Americanized grocery stores like Target and Wegman's, but now it's even made it's way to Aldi! Since I am a sucker for anything Aldi sells ever, I thought I might as well give this a try. (Plus it was fairly cheap.)
