Foreign-Food-Friday? Pokka Sapporo Yuzu Lemon

Pokka Sapporo Yuzu Lemon - Asian Food Market
It's not limited edition, holiday-themed, or "on-trend," but this yuzu and lemon drink sounded so light and refreshing! I had to have it. Into my cart it went, along with some other bottled beverages, way too much candy, and some Pop'n Cookin' kits that have been done-to-death on YouTube. (That won't stop me from trying them for myself!)
I'm really excited to drink this, so let's (very briefly) cover the packaging and get right into the review!

Lemonade Gummy Candy - Philadelphia's Chinatown, PA

Lemonade Gummy Candy - Philadelphia's Chinatown, PA
Although I've eaten and reviewed quite a few Kasugai gummies here on my blog, the flavor selection in my area is quite limited. I can always find a bag of strawberry, mango, lychee, or melon, but the seasonal and Japan-local flavors (like Yuzu) are hard to find. (At least in my area of New Jersey.) Practically everything is available on the internet these days, but I prefer buying my candy in person, so I've never had the chance to try some of the more exotic or seasonal flavors. That's all about to change, recently some of the summery Kasugai gummy flavors have made their way to my neck of the woods. First I found the watermelon, which were delicious, and now I've found this bag of lemonade flavored gummies!

Banpeiyu Da Mon Puccho - Asian Food Market: Cherry Hill, NJ

Banpeiyu Da Mon Puccho - Asian Food Market: Cherry Hill, NJ
Here is another flavor of Puccho candy! The label didn’t have much English, so I assumed that this flavor was yuzu after looking at the label, but this is actually banpeiyu flavored. What is banpeiyu? (I had to look it up.)

"…banpeiyu fruits are citrus fruits that bear a resemblance to hugely oversized grapefruits.”

All of the flavors I have reviewed so far have stuck to the classic Puccho mascot or AKB48 members, but this specific flavor is a little different from the others. This package features a big black bear character. The front of the packaging features the fruit itself and bear mascot, but overall it’s very basic. I love the bold contrast of the yellow and black with red accents.
