Pumpkin Fudge - The Fudge Factory : Wildwood, NJ
A seasonal favorite, pumpkin fudge!
It is almost time for me to fill your queues with a ton of pumpkin-y goodness. I may try to switch things up this year. I am still playing around with the idea, but I am thinking that I might schedule pumpkin related items only on certain days (like Mon, Wed, Fri) from October to November. There are some viewers who aren't on my pumpkin obsession level, so I'd like to include some non-pumpkin reviews each week. Any suggestions/objections?
Now, on to the review!
I have had a lot of pumpkin fudge over the years, and I can say without any hesitation that The Fudge Factory in Wildwood makes the best.
This isn't your typical vanilla fudge mixed with orange food coloring and pumpkin pie spice. When you open up the little container there is a sweet, spiced, nutty aroma that is a spot on match for it's bakery-fresh counterpart. In short, this smells just like pumpkin pie filling and I am very certain that there is actual pumpkin puree used in the recipe.
Taking a bite, the outside crumbles a bit in your mouth while the creamy center begins to melt away leaving a rich pumpkin pie flavor in your mouth. I can taste vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, a tiny hint of cloves, and some nutty pumpkin.
I am obsessed with this fudge. If you can, I highly recommend picking some of this up this fall. Whether it is just for yourself, or a gift, this fudge is absolutely delicious and you won't regret it.
