Honey Garlic Meatballs - Pinterest Recipe Review

Honey Garlic Meatballs -  Pinterest Recipe Review : The Pin The Recipe
Okay, so I didn't follow the whole recipe, I only made the sauce, but that was because I had a huge bag of frozen meatballs from Sam's Club in my freezer. I have already made meatballs in tomato sauce for pasta and meatball subs, but I wanted to try something new.
In the past I made THIS meatball recipe. (You might have seen it, it's ALWAYS on the front page of Pinterest). It involves a container of grape jelly and a bottle of chili sauce, and the results were (surprisingly) good, but I wanted something a bit tangier.

I searched around and found this garlic and honey recipe. It sounded delicious, and it looked really appealing, so I figured I'd give it a try. (Plus, you can never go wrong with garlic and honey.)

All I had to do was cook the meatballs and add some sauce, so this was VERY easy to make. (If you want to make the gluten free meatballs it'll take a bit more time, but it shouldn't be very difficult.)
The finished sauce is sweet, tangy, and very similar to BBQ sauce. I really liked the flavor, but I did make a little modification. I used a squirt of ketchup and the rest was crushed tomatoes. I find that recipes that involve ketchup turn out too sweet for my liking, so the crushed tomatoes added a bit of acidity.
The next time I make pulled pork, I think I'll use this sauce instead of my usual BBQ for sandwiches. (I bet that combination would be delicious!)
