I picked these up a while ago, (as usual) and I'm not sure if these are even available anymore, but I figured I might as well write them up anyway.
A lot of other food bloggers in my circle were really excited about Sugar Cookie Twix, which were cancelled, but I really don't get the appeal of these slight variations of candy. Normal Twix are a cookie base, topped with caramel, and then covered in chocolate. This also has a cookie base, some kind of topping, and milk chocolate. So how different can it really be?
Taking a bite to get a better look, the cookie actually looks the same as usual, it's only the caramel portion that's been changed. It's some kind of beige nougat meant to resemble cookie dough with crunchy chocolate mix-ins. It feels drier than usual (which to be fair could be due to age), and it lacks the chewy caramel than I normally enjoy. It's kind of reminiscent of cookie dough, in the same pseudo way those movie theater Cookie Dough Bites kind of resemble cookie dough.
If you like those novelty Cookie Dough Bites, you may like this, but I personally think these are a disservice to the Twix brand. They're bland, dry, and taste more artificial than usual. I definitely prefer the original and wouldn't buy these again.
