Sometimes Foodie: The Ghost with the Toast

It's officially spooky season!

I'm going all out to make it extra fun and special this year. I'm decorating my house, eating lots of seasonal snacks, and I decided to watch at least one horror/Halloween movie a day.

So far I've watched:

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - (Theaters) 8/10 - saw it twice! Flawed, but fun.
Immaculate (Hulu) - 6/10
Ready or Not (Hulu) - 10/10
I Saw the TV Glow (Max) - 6.5/10 - I would rate it higher outside the horror label
From Hell (Hulu) - 8/10
Hellraiser, 2022 (Hulu) - 8/10

With the movies I'm way ahead of my goal, but snacking? Not so much. So let's get started with some Ghost Toast.

As far as seasonal themed products go, this is a bit of a stretch. It rhymes, and there's a ghost on it, but what does cinnamon toast have to do with fall or Halloween? And how will this flavor differ from their recent Cinnamon Churro offering? I have both in the house right now so let's compare!

When opened, the Ghost Toast coating is a bright orange color, similar to the orange-colored white chocolate bars released every fall. It smells sweet and creamy and spiced. Honestly if I had to guess the flavor based on scent, I might think that THIS is Churro, but I could also see this being Cinnamon Toast Crunch as well.

Taking a bite, the flavoring is subtle and sweet. Again, it's giving Cinnamon Toast Crunch, in a good way. I like this, but I think I prefer the marshmallow flavored Witch's Brew Kit-Kats instead.

Is Churro any better/different?

When opened, this flavor is a creamy tan color, like a cappuccino, and there's a sweet smell, like white chocolate and vanilla, but barely any spice. Taking a bite, this lacks flavor. It's almost impressive how much this cinnamon themed candy does not taste like cinnamon.

So in this battle of the bars, Ghost Toast shockingly comes out on top!

Since I ranked the movies out of ten it's only fair I do that with the candies too.

Ghost Toast - 7.5/10 - I wish it had a bit more spice and saltiness
Cinnamon Churro - 2/10 - Sweet but bland, a waste of calories
