Wahlburgers Review / What I Ate at Camden Comic Con

Our Burger, Wahlburgers Food Truck - $11
I've missed you guys!
I sincerely apologize for being MIA the last few weeks, but homeownership is really kicking my butt. I've been posting some home-related progress on my Sometimes Foodie Instagram account (check my stories) so you guys can see how much work this has all been. Even with all the help I've been getting from my amazing family and friends, I just haven't had the energy (or time, or funds...) to keep up with all the latest food trends and blogging. I'm sure I must have missed at least three Oreos by now, but I'm back today with a quick review of Wahlburgers!
A pop culture and food-junkie's dream.
Earlier this month I sold at Camden Comic Con, which is an awesome free event I've participated in several times, but this year was special. The convention hosted some really awesome food trucks, and since I have no life and have no hopes of going into the city to get some blog-worthy grub, I seized this opportunity! I went outside and immediately spotted a food truck plastered with Mark Wahlberg's face! His brothers were on there too...but come on guys, it's Marky Mark! Don't worry, it wasn't a sleep-deprived paint-fume-fueled hallucination on my part, Mark Wahlberg actually has his own burger joint in Philadelphia, Wahlburgers! Being the huge pop culture junkie I am, I had to have it. Sorry other food trucks, but I gotta "Feel it, feel it!"
Are you guys ready to drown in Marky Mark YouTube links? Because there's gonna be a LOT of them.

Ecto Cooler & Ghostbusters 2016 REVIEW

Ecto Cooler - Shop Rite ($1.99)
I finally saw the new Ghostbusters! I know, I know, I'm so far behind that all the controversy is over and no one cares, but as a Ghostbusters fan I really wanted to form an opinion for myself. I grabbed a few juiceboxes of Ecto Cooler, and my sister, and headed to the theater for an early morning showing. (I'm frugal a cheapskate and I like to wait for $6.00 showings.)
First, I'll write up the Ecto Cooler review, then I'll share my thoughts on the movie. (Also, check out this slime background! It's awesome and I'm pretty proud of myself.)

Apple Sidra: The Unofficial Beverage of Steven Universe?

Apple Sidra - Asian Food Market: Cherry Hill, NJ
Back in 2013, when Sometimes Foodie was a tumblr exclusive blog, I reviewed this beverage, it was really yummy and refreshing, but I hadn't thought about it much since. Then I started watching Steven Universe, and it was popping up everywhere! Okay, maybe not every where, but it was in at least three episodes.

Can we talk about Steven Universe? This show is adorable, deceptively complex, and it's absolutely amazing! Plus it has some really cute foodie references. Not only was there Apple Sidra, but those cheese balls look a lot like the ones sold by Utz-brand snack foods, and there are mentions of durian juice boxes, cookie cat ice cream sandwiches, and Steven has a handy dandy Cheeseburger backpack!

Since this week is really important for the progression of the story in the show, I celebrated with some Steve-esque snacks of my own.

Have any of you seen this show? I know it's a cartoon, and it might seem silly to some of you more serious people out there, but this reminds me of Jim Henson's Dinosaurs. The imagery looks like it would be something for children, and it has it's silly moments, but the content occasionally gets pretty deep and dark. If you liked the gut-wrenching Ice King and Marcie episodes of Adventure Time, you'll love this. Plus, it has tons of fun foodie things! The staff and crew celebrate the release of each episode with a unique food on their blog.

Okay, I'll stop being a nerd and I'll get back to writing up tonight's review, but seriously, give this show a chance. It's adorable and foody, what's not to love? (Also it may or may not make me cry like a child.)
