Fit & Active Apple Turnover Yogurt - Aldi : Moorestown, NJ

Fit & Active Apple Turnover Yogurt - Aldi : Moorestown,  NJ
Aldi released a few dessert themed Fit and Active yogurt flavors for Summer 2013. I reviewed the Boston cream pie version a little over a week ago, and while it was yummy, it definitely did not taste anything like it’s namesake. I am hoping that the apple turnover is more accurate.

I discussed the design of this semi-no-frills brand in my last review.

"The Fit & Active product line is kind of a no-frills brand, meaning the focus is on the product and keeping costs low, but they actually do seem to spend a decent amount of time and money of the brand identity and design. The color scheme for these products is a very consistent green and burnt sienna color, and every product has a nice image related to the flavor. Is this a design I would gasp over? No, but it gets the job done.”

This time there were no surprises hidden under the foil lid. The yogurt looks and smells just like I expected it to. As you can see, it’s a creamy off-white color with specks of cinnamon, and it smells like tangy yogurt mixed with apple pie spices. There aren’t many of them, but I can see bits of apple, similar to the freeze dried pieces in instant oatmeal, mixed throughout the yogurt as well.

I am very happy to report that this tastes REALLY authentic. I can taste apples, cinnamon, and even a hint of graham cracker-like crust. The tanginess of the yogurt prevents everything from being too sweet and the little pieces of apple add great flavor and texture.

This is delicious! I may have to go stock up on some more of this flavor before they are all gone.
