Gatorade Prime Energy Chews - Wegman’s : Cherry Hill, NJ

Gatorade Prime Energy Chews - Wegman’s : Cherry Hill, NJ
By the time this is posted it'll be Friday and I will be completely exhausted.
I very rarely drink coffee, although I have a special Youtube video coming up where I drink a ton, so I have been looking for something to give me a little pick me up on Fridays. These on clearance at Wegman's so I figured I'd give them a try.

The package is really skinny and tall, it's about the size of a candy bar. The outside container is made of cardboard (yay recyclable materials) and it has the typical Gatorade logo and color scheme. There isn't too much to critique, but I like that this package easily fits in with the rest of the Gatorade line.

Inside the box is a plastic bag containing several stacked fruity chews. Each chew is a perfect translucent square with a 3-D Gatorade logo (complete with little lightning bolt). I love the detailing in the logo and it photographed pretty nicely.

Surprise! These chews actually smell like Gatorade. They have that mild, slightly salty, aroma that all Gatorade flavors have (which has to do with replenishing your body) and this one smells just like the strawberry liquid version.

Texturally, these are a lot more like a soft gumdrop or a fruit snack than a gummy. So when they say "chew" they really mean it. It's very soft and it melts away quickly. These chews are a little sweeter than the beverage, but the overall taste is the same. This is a chewable, sweeter, strawberry Gatorade.

Okay, maybe there is a little problem with this packaging. It's so minimal it doesn't tell me much about this product. Am I expected to eat all the chews in one sitting? Is one enough?

Just to be safe I only had one chew and I checked to see if I felt any differently. After about 10 minutes I felt a little more focused, but that might have been a coincidence. I really liked the taste and texture, if they are still on sale I might buy another pack to keep in my purse, but I am not sure they live up to their energy claim.

Has anyone else had these? Am I supposed to eat them all at the same time? Send me a message (or comment) and let me know.
