Strawberry Powder Snow Candy - Asian Food Market

Strawberry Powder Snow Candy - Asian Food Market
So far New Jersey has been snow-less this winter, but I'm not complaining. Snow loses all it's magical winter-y splendor the second you have a car to dig out in order to get to work on time. No more snow days in adult-land. (Unless you're a teacher, but even then you still gotta work.)
I spotted this at the Asian Food Market, and I had no idea what "powder snow candy" even meant, but it sounded winter-y enough. Why not check it out? I rather have snow in my cavities than on my car. (Plus it's strawberry flavored!)

Minion Fartgun Candy - Five Below - Marlton, NJ

Minion Fartgun Candy - Five Below - Marlton, NJ
Over three years of food-related blogging has lead up to this very moment. That's right, today's the day, I'm about to review a fart candy. Is this the real life?

When this candy was announced I thought it was a terrible idea. I figured that it was just another novelty product to promote a movie, and I never thought I would actually buy it, but here we are.

So what sucked me into buying this little tin of chocolate fart-cloud candies?

Project 7 Peppermint Vanilla Mints - Jo Ann Fabrics: Cherry Hill, NJ

Project 7 Peppermint Vanilla Mints - Jo Ann Fabrics: Cherry Hill, NJ
I've seen this brand mentioned on a few foodie blogs, and I always thought the flavor selection and packaging were really cool! (Plus the logo reminds me of Dr. Who.) I've been searching fancy grocery stores, like Whole Foods, trying to find a few flavors to review, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I needed some new palette knives, so I stopped at Jo Ann Fabrics on my way home, and I saw this (and another of their items I'll be reviewing in the new year) in the impulse-buy area. Really? Of all places, the craft store? When did Jo Ann's get so hip and cool?

I grabbed a package of each of the items I saw and headed home, since this is minty I thought I'd knock out this review while candy canes are still in season.

blk+ Black Lemonade - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ

blk+ Black Lemonade - Wegman's: Cherry Hill, NJ
Two year ago, back when Sometimes Foodie was only on tumblr, I reviewed blk water. Visually, it's stunning, I mean...it's water, but it's black! How cool is that? (I was goth in high school, back then I would have bought this stuff by the case just for the goth-y street cred.) Other than being a dark color, it was just water. Sure, there was a slightly charcoal-like aftertaste, but there was nothing truly special about it, so I haven't repurchased it since.

I was walking around the grocery store a little while ago and I saw that blk was expanding their product line with some new flavored waters. Even though I wasn't wowed by the normal blk, I do love the concept behind this product line, so I thought I'd pick one of the flavors out and give it a review.
