Nostalgia plays a pretty big part in my adult snacking. I'll go out of my way to buy things like Pizza Lunchables, Yoo-Hoo, and Totino's Party Pizzas. All objectively bad products, (Gordon Ramsey would never!), but to me, they were my childhood staples and therefore, perfect. I just happened to miss the Goldfish-boat. 

As a childless, 35-year-old lady, with no fuzzy memories tied to the tiny orange fish, I tend to look at them as toddler food. Until Old Bay entered the chat. The Old Bay seasoned Goldfish were the best version I'd ever had, but this gives them a run for their money.

I normally don't buy fudge, unless I'm at the Jersey Shore, but this Aldi item seemed a bit unique. (At least to me.) I mean, chocolate fudge with a cheddar base? Is that normal? When I make fudge I use a dairy base, usually sweetened condensed milk, which isn't completely different from cheddar cheese, but it sounds so odd! I didn't buy this right away, I scoped it out over nearly a month's worth of grocery runs, and the "cheddar" must have scared away potential buyers, because trip after trip, the display was untouched. It went on clearance the other day and when I saw how cheap it was, I finally took the risk and tossed it into my cart.

Out of the four, this was the hardest flavor for me to find. It took me four Wawas to find this mini bag and it was the last of it's kind in the entire store. With that being said, I am fairly certain that this flavor will win this year, not because it truly tastes better than the others, but because it appeals so strongly to the average American consumer. (We Americans love cheese, bacon and potato chips. It isn't rocket science.)

It's pretty sad that the winner is already so clear, but maybe these will taste so good that they will deserve to win? Let's find out!

Posts might be a bit sporadic next week, I'm trying to edit and queue up what I can but, if you follow my art blog or art tumblr, you know I've been really busy prepping for my artist alley table at Otakon. I'm trying to edit photos and get posts ready to go, but between my 9-5 job and con-prep, I'm stretched pretty thin. (I look like I was punched in both eyes. Four hours of sleep each week night is killing me.)

Anyhoo, it's 2AM on a work night. Let's eat some baked cheddar potato chips.
