Purple -Bag Doritos have a new Cheetos-cousin

Tangy Chili Fusion Cheetos - Walmart

Flamin' Hot Cheetos have a cult following, and recently got their own origin film. (I think it's available on both Hulu and Disney+.)  Although I enjoy spicy snacking, I've never been a fan. I am uncharacteristically picky when it comes to cheese-flavored snack food. If I'm reaching for Cheetos, it's the classic crunchy bags or Mexican Street Corn, but that may change after this.

Mexican Street Corn Cheetos - 7-Eleven

Mexican Street Corn Cheetos
- 7-Eleven
When I heard Cheetos was coming out with this particular flavor, I was pretty excited, but still cautious. If you've been reading the blog for a while, you might remember that flavored Cheetos don't have the best track record. To be fair, most of the Cheeto flavors I have tried came from overseas, more specifically, Korea, and every flavor has been far sweeter than I prefer. (It's a toss-up between a savory snack food seasonings and a sugary cereal. I was not a fan.)
Black Bean Paste, Honey Cheese, Smoky BBQ and White Corn Soup, all flavors I was happy to try once, but never wanted to buy again. And they all came in full-size bags. So given the option this time around to choose a snacking size or a full size, I opted for the small single serving bag before committing to anything larger.

What Have I Done? - Korean Cheetos

Korean Cheetos  - H-Mart
I'm aware that the majority of reviews this year have been negative, and I don't know if it's because after all these years my palette has become more discerning, or if food companies are totally phoning it in. If it's the latter, is it an American-exclusive issue, or a worldwide epidemic?
To test that theory, here we have two flavors of Korean Cheetos: White Corn Soup and Smoky BBQ.

Honey Cheese Cheetos - H-Mart

Honey Cheese Cheetos - H-Mart
I hosted my first ever tasting party last night! Which is a lot less fancy than it sounds. Basically I just invited a bunch of my friends over so they could eat excess snacks and sweets I'm reviewing to help with my food hoarding situation. We snacked on junk food, played Wii U games and watched bad horror movies. (Last night's selection was the awesomely bad Zoombies. It featured amazingly bad CG and an epicly dressed character I dubbed "Mr. No-Sleeves." Not the best of bad horror, but it made for a fun evening.)

These Cheetos were one of the many items on last night's menu, so were they a hit, or a miss? Time to find out!

Black Bean Paste Cheetos - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Black Bean Paste Cheetos - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Yesterday was actually Black Day, and I totally missed the opportunity to post these! Oh well, at least I can post them now.

If any of you watch anime or read manga, you might have heard about White Day, which is a reactionary holiday to Valentine's Day. Typically, Valentine's Day in Japan, Korea, and other Asian countries, is a holiday where men receive candy/chocolate from the women in their lives as a sign of friendship, appreciation, or love. One month later, on March 14th, there is a response-style holiday called White Day, where the men who received gifts on Valentine's Day return the favor and give candy and gifts (typically white chocolate) as a way of saying thank you (or returning their feelings and appreciation). Makes sense right? It's pretty straight forward, but what if you didn't get any gifts on either holiday? Well that is where Black Day comes in.
