Apple Butter Syrup - Aldi

Apple Butter Syrup - Aldi
Winter sucks, but big hearty breakfasts make leaving the comfort of a warm bed a little easier. Our weekend go-tos are usually pancakes, french toast, and waffles. To keep things interesting, while also pleasing even the pickiest of eaters, I usually don't mess with the batter recipe, instead, I change things up with different toppings and syrups, like this Apple Butter syrup from Aldi.
It's been ages since I've had apple butter. My maternal grandfather (who is Hungarian) always had jars of this on hand and we used to eat it on everything. It's great on toast, it adds a ton of flavor to oatmeal or cream of wheat, and it makes a really lovely glaze for pork roasts and other cured meats, and I bet it'd taste AMAZING on breakfast foods, but it's a little too thick to be used as a syrup-replacement. Until now!

Coffee Time Syrup - ShopRite: Berlin, NJ (Quickie Review)

Coffee Time Syrup - ShopRite: Berlin, NJ
Chocolate milk for coffee addicted adults! Are any of you subscribed to foodie Youtuber, Emmymadeinjapan? (If not, you should be.) She made a video last year talking about coffee milk, which is the official drink of Rhode Island. Over a year later, I happened to be wandering around a grocery store (waiting for my car to be serviced), and I found a bottle of coffee syrup to make my own coffee milk! From what I've read online, it seems like this is the branding and packaging for the same syrup Emmy reviewed in Rhode Island, but this is how that brand markets to other states. I figured it would make an interesting review item, plus it might be something new for my coffee addicted boyfriend to try, so into my cart it went.

There isn't much to this product, so this is going to be a really quick review.

Sugar Free Blueberry Syrup - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ

Sugar Free Blueberry Syrup - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
This syrup was originally purchased to enhance the flavor and photos of another blueberry-themed food item I'll be reviewing tomorrow, but I figured I might as well give it a little review of it's own.

Strawberry Grapefruit Syrup -Homemade, Recipe

Strawberry Grapefruit Syrup -Homemade, Recipe
I’m trying to use up a lot of the things in my fridge this week, so I used a couple strawberries and a grapefruit to made this syrup. It’s really delicious over ice cream, but I bet it’d be great on waffles and pancakes too!
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 large strawberries
  • Juice from 1/2 a grapefruit
In a small pot, combine the sugar and water. Place it over low heat, stirring occasionally. This will create a simple syrup to act as our sweetener and our base.
