Count Chocula and Franken Berry were busy this year, we got the the KAWS designed cereal boxes (plus Boo Berry and Fruit Brute), some themed yogurt, the Monster Mash fruit snacks, and now these take-and-bake cookies.
Normally these kinds of cookies aren't my thing, but they're Halloween-y, and cereal monster themed! Plus those weird little extruded faces have a certain charm to them. It's like these were made for me.
What do you say? Let's bake up some monsters!

Monster Mash (Chewy Edition) - Spooky Berry Fruit Snacks
Monster Mash Fruit Snacks - CVS
Last year we got a Monster Mash cereal, I loved the concept, but the execution left something to be desired. The logo was great, box art was great, but the cereal itself was generic berry and marshmallow, which is the go-to for any novelty release and pretty, "meh." Thankfully, the Monster Mash concept and logo isn't dead and buried. This year we have the same concept applied to chewy fruit snacks!

In a world of Fruit Punch, Swedish Fish, and Glittery Trolls Oreos, be a Chocolate Marshmallow.
Suddenly, I have a bit more time on my hands (imagine that!), and there's no better way to dust off the ol' food blog than with a new Oreo review.
I have a few backlogged Oreo flavors I still need to type up, like caramel coconut, mystery, marshmallow moon, and maple creme (lot of "m" names...), but I wanted to push all those aside and talk about this flavor in particular.
Chocolate Marshmallow Oreos don't have very fancy packaging, and visually, they aren't much to look at, but what they lack in shock-value, they more than make-up in flavor payoff.
Oreos have done marshmallow before, but never like this.

Count Chocula Treats From My Stash
I always go ALL-IN on the Halloween clearance aisles, but in 2019, I out did myself. Take a look at this lovely photo of me, and my dogs, surrounded by the first round of my post-Halloween haul. Everything here was at least 50% off! (Then I bought even more a few days later at 75% off!)
We're finally nearing the end of my stash, so I thought I would take a moment to shout-out a few of our favorite items, starting with these Count Chocula cereal bars.

Monster Cereals are returning with a new look thanks to DC Comic Artists
Comic Book Makeovers for the Classic Cereal Monsters
Halloween fan rejoice! The monster cereals we all know and love will be returning to the shelves very soon, and with some nice, new, art to boot. Although there is no news on the return of Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy, it seems like the berry and chocolate trio will be returning this year with a fresh coat of paint.
Just like last year, Target will be releasing exclusive retro-cereal box designs, this year the designs will be similar to the ones released in 1979-1980, but normal grocery store shelves will be getting these snazzy new boxes.
Franken Berry is my fav of the whole bunch
As a fan of comics and horror movie monsters, I really love the new box art. (Especially the Count and Franken Berry. Sorry Jim Lee, the Boo Berry Box just isn't my style.)
The boxes are designed by DC Artists:
Franken Berry- Dave Johnson
Count Chocula- Terry and Rachel Dodson
Boo Berry- Jim Lee
I might have to pick up Franken Berry and the Count this year, but I'll be torn between these fresh new designs and the fun retro ones that feature a mask. Which will you be buying?
