Snap, Cackle, Pop! - Ghoul-Aid Popping Candy

Ghoul-Aid Popping Candy
- Dollar Tree

Back in 2015 I reviewed pouches of Ghoul-Aid, but those were blackberry flavored, so I think this product might be a in-name-only kind of deal. It says "Ghoul-Aid" and it's purple, but according to the illustration, it's generically berry flavored.

With Halloween items getting discounted and disappearing from shelves, let's see if it's worth scooping up.

Firework Oreos - Walmart

Firework Oreos - Walmart
I've missed blogging (and you guys) so much!!
Fixing up my new home is kicking my butt. Every free moment I have goes to painting, repairing, scheduling, or cursing like a sailor as I discover new horrible things previous home owners have done. It's like an infuriating game of hide and seek, but with permits and inspections and a lot of rage. As my step-dad put it, "Welcome to the 30 year club". We don't get matching jackets (sadly), but in the end, I'll all be worth it.
I'm a bit rusty, so I figured I'd get back into the swing of things with something simple and short. Enter: Fireworks Oreos.
Plain 'ol chocolate Oreos with some totally-not-Pop-Rocks mixed into the creme. (Shh, you wanna get sued?) Flavor-wise, we all know what to expect, but is the popping effect worthy of the name "Firework"? We shall see...

Cherry Cola Pop Rocks - Michael's: Cherry Hill, NJ

Cherry Cola Pop Rocks - Michael's: Cherry Hill, NJ
When I saw these Pop Rocks, it made me think of one of my favorite songs from the 90's, so I HAD to buy it. Let's tear this open and have some poppin' chic-a-cherry cola! (I was able to make a Savage Garden reference on my food blog. My life is complete now. I've peaked. This is as cool as I'm ever gonna get.)

Pumpkin Patch Orange Pop Rocks - gift

Pumpkin Patch Orange Pop Rocks - gift
This is a seasonal item that seems to return each fall, and ever single time I see it, I mistake it for some kind of limited edition Pumpkin Spiced Pop Rocks. Now, I have to admit that pumpkin flavored popping candy wouldn't be the best idea, but if it existed, I'd totally try it. (A sparkling apple cider version would be a lot tastier, maybe they should try that next year.)

Limited Edition Milk Chocolate Covered Pop Rocks - The Fudge Factory: Wildwood, NJ

Limited Edition Milk Chocolate Covered Pop Rocks - The Fudge Factory: Wildwood, NJ
Okay, the package says that this is a Limited Edition product, and I had never seen it on the shelves before, but that doesn't mean it's new. About 8 years ago, when I had just started college, THIS was posted over on CandyBlog. I tried looking at the official Pop Rocks Facebook page to see if there was any kind of new promotion for this item, and there wasn't, but it is listed on their official website. (Although it just says Limited Edition and gives no other time stamp info.)

Is this an older item that's been re-released? Or am I about to eat 8 year old candy? I guess we'll find out once I open it...
