2019: The Year of The Krimpet

Spice Kake Krimpets - CVS
Tastykake is kind of a big deal around here, especially in Philadelphia. They may not be as pop culture friendly as Twinkies, but they get their fair share of shout-out's, like in the Ol' Dirty Bastard song, "Brooklyn Zoo." Honestly, I was never much of a Tastykake fan, but, in a not-so-shocking twist of fate, my Philly-born fiance is a Butterscotch Krimpet addict. I honestly had no idea. Since I buy all the groceries, and I'm not into Tastykakes, I never kept them in the house, but it turns out that he was buying them from a vending machine at work... until they ran out. That's when I started buying them, and let me tell you, I have bought more Krimpets in 2019 than I have purchased in my entire life.
Little did I know, 2019 was going to be the year of the Krimpet

Pumpkin Seed Brittle - Trader Joe's (TBT)

Pumpkin Seed Brittle - Trader Joe's
More pumpkin stuff? What can I say? I went overboard (again), but that's par the course for an over zealous food blogger. I get into a theme, get carried away buying stuff related to it, then the season blows by with me barely putting a dent into my food hoard. It's a vicious, and delicious, cycle.

Cinnamon Bun Oreos - Walmart

Cinnamon Bun Oreos - Walmart
This food blogger don't want none unless it's got buns, 'hun! (How many other food bloggers went for the joke? I'm guessing a lot.) This was the Oreo flavor I was most excited about. You can keep that re-released Red Velvet Cake, the Peppermint, and the over-hyped Creme Filled Cupcake. I am all about the cinnamon bun!

Tastykake Pumpkin Spice Mini Donuts - Target

Tastykake Pumpkin Spice Mini Donuts - Target
There are only 11 days left in November?! When they heck did that happen? I guess my aversion to all things wintery, cold, and Santa-related made me lose track of time, and guess what? I still have a massive pile of pumpkin products to get through! I better get started...

Snapple Fall Spice Tea - Target

Snapple Fall Spice Tea - Target
I've reviewed a lot of fall products, everything from pumpkin-based pasta sauces to seasonally spiced chewing gum, and I've even reviewed some fall themed teas...but they've always been in tea-bag-form to be brewed at home. Not bottled, and especially not iced. Since it's been a while since Snapple has done anything new, they were kind of flying under my radar. When I saw that they had released a fall themed product, I was really excited because it seemed to come entirely out of left field. I mean, I haven't done my homework, but I think this is the first time Snapple has thrown it's hat into the limited edition fall flavor ring, and I think they might be the first American company to release a fall-themed iced tea as well.
It may not be pumpkin spiced, but let's give this seasonal Snapple a try!

Pumpkin Spice Latte m&m's - Target (Pumpkin Haul 2015)

Pumpkin Spice Latte m&m's - Target
Basics rejoice! It's the time of year when everything is pumpkin spiced, and Mars has (thankfully) switched things up this year. Instead of offering their normal Pumpkin Spice m&m's (reviewed here) they've changed their formula and added coffee to the mix for this seasonal re-release!

If you want to read last year's review of the plain Pumpkin Spiced version, it's right HERE, but (spoiler alert) I'm happy they're gone. I have high hopes that this new version will finally win me over.

Trader Joe-Joe's (Ginger) - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ

Trader Joe-Joe's (Ginger) - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ
Happy New Year's Eve everyone! I'll be posting a few things later tonight when I get home from work, including this year's foodie collage, so I hope you all have a fun night and stay safe! (Those of you who are shut-ins antisocial homebody's like me, can look forward to some fun foodie posts to ring in the new year.)

I mentioned buying these Joe-Joe's during our last Candyology101 podcast, and Cybele from Candyblog warned me that they were going to be VERY decadent and coated in chocolate, and boy, was she right.
