Tonight, we feast! My family celebrated the return of Game of Thrones with a fancy dinner, and I thought I would share our menu.
We aimed for more rustic fair, similar to stuff possibly eaten on the show, with a few themed novelties mixed in.

Being an adult sucks. It's Saturday, and instead of sleeping in and being a bum in my PJ's I woke up early to take a 2-hour state-regulated standardized test on art making and content knowledge. Then I came home and cleaned out my car (because I dropped my license under the seat and couldn't find it), made lunch, did three loads of laundry, folded all three loads of laundry and dusted. After all that adulting...I deserve a treat.
I picked up these special Ghostbusters themed marshmallows a while back and I really wanted to review them...but they're just normal marshmallows in wacky shapes and colors, so I didn't think the review would be all that interesting.
Instead, I'll just give you a close up look at the shapes and show you what I made with them.
Welp, my PC died Thursday night, and it took me (and my amazing friend Anthony who is a technological angel) all weekend to get it back up and running. It started with my CPU fan dying and turned into a whole mess of problems. Fun times.
Now that my PC (I named her Synergy, get the reference?) is back from the dead I'm writing up reviews to get things back on track, but in the meantime, you can see what I ate this weekend by visiting my Instagram page, @SometimesFoodie.

Delicious veggie-goodness for dinner last night. The veggies, the veggie burgers, soda and brioche buns all came from Aldi! I think the only part of this meal that wasn't from Aldi was the salad dressing and the cheese. I'd like to do some more recipes in the future using Aldi produce with pricing totals, because I think it could be a lot of fun and it could shatter some misconceptions about Aldi, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time...we'll see what the future holds.
I cooked up some more salmon burgers, with sriracha mayo and toasted brioche buns, for dinner and I tried another flavor of beer. I got the burger patties at BJ's Wholesale Club (because I had a coupon) and I like them a lot more than I thought I would! They're pretty substantial and they work nicely with the sriracha mayo I have in the fridge. Right now I'm just cooking them up on a griddle inside, since it's so buggy outside, but I'd like to try grilling some up with a sweet chili sauce glaze before the summer is over.A photo posted by Sometimes Foodie (@sometimesfoodie) on
Since I'm a self-proclaimed beer-hater, I'm trying to be more open minded this year and try new flavors to see if there's one out there I like. I went to Wine Works and built my own 6-pack with a few flavors off the shelves (I picked them solely based on cool-labels), but no luck yet. Beer has a flavor profile that just doesn't appeal to me. I very rarely drink alcohol, and when I do, it's sugary mixed drinks that barely taste like booze at all. I've been trying to keep an open mind and try more beers, since all my friends really seem to enjoy them, but I haven't had any luck finding ones I like.A photo posted by Sometimes Foodie (@sometimesfoodie) on
