Let's jump right into it. Nose, first!

Oh. Oh, no. Why do they smell like this?

Seriously, I'm pretty forgiving in terms or aroma, but had I not -just- bought these, and checked that best by date is May 2024, I'd think they'd gone rancid.

Perhaps they were going for a sharp, provolone cheese, kind of thing here, but it smells like feet and rancid fryer oil. I hate it. And as a New Jersian, who has been adjacent to Philadelphia, the home of the cheesesteak, for 30+years...it's whiz-wit or bust, baby.

The aroma is actually putting me off, so I am going to try a chip and hope for the best.

I DESTROYED These - Hot Honey Pringles

The title for the post completely reveals my thoughts on these. Normally there's this coy game of, "I don't know, will I like these?" But, I destroyed this tennis ball can of chips in 2 days. When you are surrounded with as much junk food as I am (completely by choice), that's saying something.

Hot Honey was on-trend a few years ago, but it's prevalence and popularity has started to wane. I still love it though. It reminds me of eating chicken nuggets with honey as a kid. Like a warm nostalgic blanket that somehow grew up along with me.

However, this was not love at first chip.

Cre-E-epy Crawlers! Rather, CREEPY Crisps

Creepy Crisps - Gift

Sticking with savory snacking for a sec, I have these Limited Edition Creepy Crisps from The Good Crisp Company.

I had never heard of this brand before, but at a glance, these seem to be...healthy Pringles? The little blurb on the can says that as a parent, they wanted to have a snack for their children that they felt good about, and that this year they "added a spooky twist." Safe to say, my assumptions were correct.

What's the spooky twist? Judging by the package, the chips inside are black-colored, but normal, original, potato-flavor. Will they actually look as black as they do on the tube? Will they still taste okay? Will they cause the same colorful gastrointestinal aftermath as other black products, like the Black Cherry Fanta slush or the Burger King HA1loween burger? We shall see!

Elotes Pringles

Elotes, aka "Mexican Street Corn," has been popping up all over American grocery shelves. We had corn chips, crunchy Cheetos, various dips, and now a Pringle.

If you've never had Elotes, I highly recommend it. They're a bit messy to eat, but they activate all your taste buds. We have sweet, salty, cheesy, creamy, buttery, tangy, zesty, and spicy. All at once. While I've had nothing but positive experiences with Elote-themed items, I find that no snack food can truly capture this dish. They have gotten close, but it's not quite the same thing.

That said, I am excited to try these Pringles but I am keeping my expectations grounded.

Space Bird Burgers, in Chip-form - Wavy Halo Moa Burger Pringles

Wavy Moa Burger
-Walmart
Just finished working an 11 hour shift, but I didn't want that to wreck my (mostly) consistent review posting streak. That said, I'm going to try and keep this one pretty short and please excuse any typos. I am very, very tired. Perhaps some extra calories will perk me up.

This "limited" item has been out for quite some time now, and since I know next to nothing about Halo, and have been burned by a lot of limited edition Pringles flavors in the past, I was going to skip it. But I had to run out to Walmart for kitty litter and just so happened to see this on an end cap and thought, why not?

Let's kick things off with a quick google search, "What is a Moa burger?"

Hot Diggity Dog Pringles - Walgreens

Hot Diggity Dog Pringles - Walgreens
Hot Dog flavored chips sound like a terrible idea, right? At least I thought so. When I saw these in Walgreens for the first time I nearly gagged at the thought of a mystery meat hot dog flavored chip, and I passed them by without thinking twice about my missed review opportunity, but then a few of my fellow foodies, like The Impulsive Buy, and Junk Food Guy wrote their reviews. After seeing what they had to say I decided to give these chips a chance, and I am SO happy I did.

New YouTube Review: Paprika Pringles

New Video Review is (finally) up!
Going through my foodie backlog and found this gift from my sister! Sorry for the jump cuts in this one, but if you're one of those people who complain about YouTubers talking with food in their mouth, be happy I cut the footage of me eating the Pringles on camera. Trust me, it wasn't pretty.

Pringles Wasabi & Soy Sauce - Walmart

Pringles Wasabi & Soy Sauce - Walmart
Woo, the long weekend is (sadly) over and it's back to the daily grind. I have a quick snack review to get myself back into the swing of things, so here we go!

Pringles Honey Butter Stix - Gift

Pringles Honey Butter Stix  - Gift
This item was actually a gift from my bosses and their daughter. They originally bought a box of these for her lunches and after school snacks, and I won't spoil anything before I get into the review, but a little packet was sitting right on my desk when I came into work. Without any explanation, my boss told me I had to review and try it, and you'll see why...

Pecan Pie Pringles - Target - Riverside, NJ

Pecan Pie Pringles  - Target - Riverside, NJ
Last year the Pringles company decided to change things up and they released three different dessert flavored chips: White Chocolate Peppermint, Pumpkin Pie, and Cinnamon Sugar. I was really excited that the company tried something new, but it turned out to be a big disaster. I was only able to get my hands on the cinnamon and white chocolate varieties last year, and both were disappointing. All the company did was take normal, salty, Pringles and coat them in a light dusting of cinnamon or mint. It was like eating Pringles after brushing your teeth or eating something cinnamon-y.
I noticed that the dessert flavors quickly disappeared from the shelves, so I figured the company decided to scrap the idea, but they are back! What else? Pringles released a new Pecan Pie variety. (With a really weird ad to boot. Is it just me? Or is this really creepy?)

I was going to ignore this culinary innovation due to being burned in the past, but other foodies said that these were worth trying, and they actually got some good reviews. I caved in and bought a container when I casually saw them on a Target end-cap. Let's hope I wasn't tricked into another foodie fail. I put the last two sweet Pringles flavors I bought out at a party with over 20 people and NO ONE liked them. There were a few half eaten chips on napkins, but I was stuck with those tubes until the snow thawed and they could be given to the birds and squirrels. I hate wasting money on foodie fails, so I really hope these are at least tolerable.

Frank’s RedHot Wings Pringles - Walmart : Lumberton, NJ

Frank’s RedHot Wings Pringles - Walmart : Lumberton, NJ
I haven’t had Pringles since they attempted a dessert line, and since I no longer see any of those flavors on the shelves, I’m guessing that didn’t work out. I wanted to like them, but the chips just weren’t good. (Check out my reviews on the White Chocolate Peppermint and Cinnamon Sugar versions if you don’t believe me.)

I saw an announcement online that the limited edition Frank’s RedHot Wings Pringles were being re-released. I’ve heard good things about this flavor, but I missed out on it last year. This time I was able to get a can before the shelves were cleared.

Like all Pringles, the chips are stacked inside a tall foiled container with a color scheme that plays off the flavor. For Frank’s RedHot, the design features a bright yellow-orange gradient and a bottle of buffalo wing sauce. Compared to the other packaging I photograph/review, Pringles have a lack-luster design. I’m not really liking this label, and I feel like they could have done a lot more with it.

Cinnamon & Sugar Pringles - Target : Cherry Hill, NJ

Cinnamon & Sugar Pringles - Target : Cherry Hill, NJ
I tried the white chocolate peppermint version a few days ago, and it was really disappointing. I hope that these cinnamon and sugar ones are much better. I mean, can you really mess up cinnamon and sugar?

The packaging is the same as any other Pringles can. I like that the design really focuses on cinnamon, it makes me feel like these chips will be really flavorful.
Opening the can, the crisps smell like cinnamon. So that is a good sign right there. The chips smell strongly, but they don’t look very seasoned. I can see a light dusting of cinnamon, but it is barely there.

Time to taste them!

These….are very salty. Again, it tastes like the original flavor. Except this time someone dumped a bit of cinnamon on them instead of toothpaste. I love the combination of sweet and salty, but there is no sweet cinnamon and sugar taste. Instead, I got cinnamon and salt.

I had such high hopes for these chips, and thought that the idea would have brought Pringles into a whole new market, but these are just as disappointing as the mint variety. (Maybe even more disappointing because I love cinnamon and sugar and hoped these would have been churro-like in flavor.)

Unless they change the flavor formulas, I won’t be buying these again or trying new flavors in the future.
