Tiny Burgers, Fries, and Fruits, Oh MY! - 4D Gummies

4D Gummies - Dollar Tree

I bought these because I wanted to photograph them. I mean, look at them! They're little 3D gummy shapes of fruits and burgers and stuff. It's like, my kryptonite. But, I know what I'm getting into. After my experience with 4D Gummies (which were also from Dollar Tree) I knew these would likely be more of a fun visual novelty than a decent candy.

So I am going into this with a healthy amount of skepticism and very low expectations. (Kind of like dating in your 30's, am I right? Self-burn.)

Let's jump right into it!

Gettin' Lucky (Charms) Milkshake - Quickie Review

Lucky Charms Shake -  Burger King (Gift)
My boyfriend's daughter treated the entire household to milkshakes. (Which was super awesome.) So I took this opportunity to try one of the cereal milkshakes that were all the rage a few months ago. Better late than never, right?
Let me start off by saying I wanted the smallest milkshake size available, and apparently, this is it. It's about the size of a medium soda, which is more milkshake than my stomach had bargained for. (After eating pizza and wings that is.) The vanilla base has a blue-ish tinge to it, and there are tiny beige pieces of cereal and colorful mashed up marshmallow bits scattered on the surface, but due to the whip cream topping, they're only visible on the sides of the lid.
According to the Burger King website, this isn't just a vanilla milkshake with cereal mixed into it. There's a "sweet marshmallow cereal flavored syrup," that brings this to a whole new level. I took a sip, and if it's there, I can barely notice it. The base for the milkshake is a sweet and creamy vanilla, which is pleasant, but nothing special. I enjoy it as much as I would enjoy any other fast food vanilla shake, what I didn't expect, was how much I would love the mixed in cereal bits.
As you sip, chunks of soggy cereal slide up your straw giving this milkshake a bubble-tea like experience. Sip, chew. Sip, chew. The cereal bits didn't offer much in the way of flavor, they tasted like soggy Lucky Charms, but I loved the added texture. The marshmallow bits, through pretty, didn't add much in the way of texture or flavoring, but the cereal? It was awesome!
I didn't think I would be able to finish this milkshake (due to my pizza and wing binge-fest) but I actually did! Seeking out bits of cereal kept things interesting, and I found it to be a very pleasant milkshake experience.
I still think the marshmallow cereal flavored syrup is a glorified vanilla syrup of some kind, but the novelty of this milkshake ended up being far more enjoyable than I expected. If you're a fan of bubble tea, I highly recommend adding some Lucky Charms cereal to your next milkshake. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

Pumpkin Spice Oreo Shake - Burger King

Pumpkin Spice Oreo Shake - Burger King
I'm back from Baltimore! After a very long drive back to Jersey (caused by the  #@$%! Ravens game), I decided to treat myself for not succumbing to road rage by stopping at Burger King. At first I was just going to buy the new Halloween burger (with the black A-1 infused buns), but they also had this new milkshake...so I grabbed both! (After that drive, I deserved it. Treat yo' self!)

Classic chocolate Oreo bits and pumpkin spice? I don't know about this one. Let's see if this shake is tasty, or just a gimmick. (The Halloween burger review will be up next!)

Crème Brûlée Milkshake - Arby's

Crème Brûlée Milkshake - Arby's

I don't think I've ever eaten anything from Arby's before. My only childhood memory involving Arby's is that one Lord of the Flies-like episode of The Simpson's where the children are stranded on an island and one of the twin girls says, "I'm so hungry, I could eat at Arby's!" (The rest of the children audibly gasp and murmur that she really must be hungry. ) That little gag really stuck with me, my sister and I quote it all the time when we're hungry, so maybe that joke actually caused me avoid this fast food chain as an adult. Then again, I'm also not a huge fan of red meat, and with roast beef being their main product, it's no wonder I haven't stopped in for a bite. (Get it? Arby's. R. B. Roast Beef. The meaning behind their name was definitely lost on me as a child.) On my drive to and from work I pass a LOT of tempting fast food restaurants, and while I'm normally very good about ignoring them and going straight home to eat, Arby's sign for a crème brûlée milkshake was too tempting to pass up.

Sometimes Foodie eats Taco Bell for the first time in 10+ years

Breakfast- Taco Bell: Somerville, NJ
Like the title suggests, I haven't had Taco Bell since I was a child. Time to see what this breakfast stuff is all about!

Cheddar Jalapeño Bites - Wawa: Collingswood, NJ

Cheddar Jalapeño Bites - Wawa: Collingswood, NJ
Junkfood indulgence time!

While I was at Wawa, buying their version of the ever-popular pumpkin spice latte, I grabbed a bag of these cheddar jalapeño bites. When I first saw the bag I got excited thinking it was the jalapeño cheddar pretzel, but it wasn't. (The Wawas around here just don't' make those anymore. Do they still make them in your area?)

The bag is pretty rough looking. There are cheddar smears on the outside that really made this look unappetizing in photos. Without the cheesy additions, the bag design is pretty nice. It's simple, straightforward, and it does it's job. This might be a more recent change, but I remember the bags being more of a white color, but I don't mind this more natural, unbleached, color of paper.

Vegetarian Autumn Squash Soup - Panera Bread: Cherry Hill, NJ

Vegetarian Autumn Squash Soup
- PaneraBread: Cherry Hill, NJ
The pumpkin-ing has begun! (insert evil scientist laughter here.)

I recently filmed a video where my boyfriend and I tested 4 pumpkin spiced lattes from different locations. (It'll be up sometime this week.) One of those locations was Panera, and while I was there I picked up a bowl of the new Autumn Squash Soup which is made from squash, apples, and...pumpkin!

Since the packaging for soups hasn't really changed, I'll skip the aesthetic review and get right into the good stuff.

Pretzel Bacon Burger - Wendy's : Pennsauken, NJ

Pretzel Bacon Burger
- Wendy's : Pennsauken, NJ
Meet my latest junk food addiction.
I rarely eat fast food, but when I do it's either Wendy's or White Castle. I haven't had McDonalds since I saw Supersize Me in the early 2000's, and I haven't had Chick-fil-a since their big anti-gay marriage scandal.  Since my beloved White Castle is an hour away in Toms River, Wendy's has become my go-to fast food joint.

Since fast food is typically not much to look at, I'll skip the aesthetics and get right into the review.

I LOVE White Castle Burgers

White Castle Burgers
Sorry I missed today’s update! I’ll make up for it by posting something awesome tomorrow.
In the meantime, here are some photos from my last trip to White Castle in Tom’s River NJ. It’s over an hour away, so I go all out and buy a LOT of burgers. Everything in that first photo was just for me. (The freezer kind just aren’t the same.)

Lite General Tso’s Chicken and Wontons - Chinatown Garden: Washington DC

Lite General Tso’s Chicken and Wontons - Chinatown Garden: Washington DC
I had to grab a quick dinner before we made the 2 hour drive back to Jersey, so I headed into DC’s Chinatown for a bite to eat.
I decided to get an order of General Tso’s with some dumplings, but this restaurant actually offered a “lite” version which I have never seen before. I was curious, so I gave it a try.

Another Sonic Run

Another Sonic Run
Another stop at the new Sonic on my way home from the Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival in Philadelphia. I decided to get one of the Wacky Packs (kids’ meal). I got a cheeseburger, fries and a Route 44 Watermelon Slush.

This slush was HUGE. Bigger than my head and it was only $2.15! 2pm-4pm they are half off! That is insane! Only 1/6th of the way in and I already had 4 brain freezes!

The kids meal was very yummy and filling. Ordering off of the child menu helps with portion control. If I do eat out I always try and order kids meal sizes, even though my boyfriend teases me horribly. (Plus I get a toy!)
