The Power of VOO-DEW (Who Dew?) You Dew!

Mountain Dew Voo-Dew  - 7-Eleven
Move over Japan, America has it's own spooky mystery soda! What am I talking about? Well a few years ago Pepsi released spooky Halloween-themed mystery flavored cola in Japan. And I bought some on eBay and made a YouTube video about it because I love Halloween and I had a lot more free time back then. (I miss those days.) Check out the video below:
As you can see, the Pepsi bottles had really cute labels (really really cute) but the flavor was subtle and a bit of a let-down. But, if all of Mountain Dew's other limited edition and seasonal flavors are any indication, this time things will be different.

It's like I blink and a whole month goes by! I'm scheduling posts for the rest of the week, in the meantime, enjoy this off-season Halloween taste test and stick around until the end to hear my boyfriend's impressive vocal skills.

3-D Movie Monster Gummies: As Disappointing as Universal's Dark Universe reboots, but cheaper.

Gummy Monsters - The Dollar Tree
When it comes to cheap Halloween decorations, you can't beat The Dollar Tree. I filled my cart with foam tombstones, window clings, glow in the dark signs, comical caution tape, stretchy spider webs, bat garland, paper lanterns, skeleton hands...the list goes on and on. They really outdid themselves with this year's decor, but I can't say the same about their candy selection.
All of the fun seasonal sweets (like these plastic IV bags filled with candy blood) have been replaced with generic D-list candy. Which even by Dollar Tree standards is pretty bad. I scrounged around and only found two items worth checking out. A seasonal bag of Haribo, and these 3-D monster gummies. At the very least, these should make for some interesting photos...

Halloween Kisses - Target

Halloween Kisses - Target $3.59 (original)
Another semi-pointless seasonal post. These are normal milk chocolate Hershey's Kisses in fancy Halloween themed foils, so they don't taste any different than their all-year-round offerings...but these FOILS THO'!
I just couldn't resist them, they're shiny, they've got Halloween Patterns all over them, and the colors look absolutely GORGEOUS in my candy dish. I just couldn't let these ghastly-ghoulish wrappers slip through my foodie fingertips. They NEEDED to be photographed, even if the contents aren't all that special.
After consuming their chocolate-y insides, I find myself smoothing out each foil perfectly flat with a bone folder (sounds spooky, but it's just a smooth plastic tool that helps with folding paper) and I plan on turning a few of these into some fun up-cycled pinback buttons for my Etsy shop and Halloween giveaway!
Tonight, on my way home from work, I'll be stopping at Target to pick up another bag (hopefully on clearance), so if you're like me and you love bargain shopping and spooky sweets, I recommend grabbing a bag or two for yourself! (Christmas is going to have to pry Halloween out of my sticky candy-coated-hands!)

It's finally Halloween! I'm going to savor every delicious moment of it. I've got a bunch of written posts going up throughout the day and 3 different YouTube video reviews! So be sure to check back periodically to see what spooky goodies I've scrounged up.
It's like Trick-or-Treating, but online, and none of you get to eat the candy. Actually, two of you can! I have my giveaway going on from now until 11:59PM TONIGHT (10/31/16.) On November 2nd I'll announce the winners, so be sure to enter, you've still got time left!
While you're busy entering the contest, I'm going to start munching on some spooky seasonal Skittles.

Limited Edition Halloween Crunch - Target

Limited Edition Halloween Crunch - Target
So this review is slightly pointless, because this is Halloween Captain Crunch, but it tastes just like normal Captain Crunch. The only thing that makes this Limited Edition is the fact that these "ghost" shapes they've added will turn your milk green. I really like the box art, so I'm going to write it up anyway, because Halloween.

LOOK Peko Chan & Hello Kitty Halloween Chocolates - H-Mart (tbt)

LOOK Peko Chan & Hello Kitty Halloween Chocolates - H-Mart (tbt)
While everyone else is obsessing over the sudden influx of all things pumpkin (and pumpkin spice), I'm freaking out over all the spooky Halloween craft store goods. Don't get me wrong, I love summer, and I wish this heatwave would never end, but I'm also really excited about Halloween, so I thought I'd revisit these seasonal sweets for today's #tbt.

Ghoulish Gum Balls - Target (#tbt)

Ghoulish Gum Balls - Target (#tbt)
This was yesterday's #tbt review, but I never found the time to finish writing it up.
Only 100 more days until Halloween! Soon the shelves will be lined with spooky skull and bat themed EVERYTHING. Sure it's supposed to be seasonal decor and decorations, but if you're a former goth-kid like me, it's the best time of the year to redecorate your home!
I grabbed a few packages of these spooky Halloween themed gum balls when they went on clearance back in the fall. I've been munching on them here and there, but I'm finally down to my last pack, so I thought it'd be fun to write it up for a #tbt.

Starburst Halloween Mix - Target

Starburst Halloween Mix - Target
Nearly all of the fun sized Trick-or-Treat candy on shelves this year are repeats from previous years. A few brands came out with some new shapes, or switched up their colors, but overall the actual candies stayed the same. How boring! Come on companies, give me something new!

Thankfully Starburst released this Halloween mix that has some previously retired flavors returning from the candy graveyard, and they have some adorably spooky wrappers to boot!

I'm so excited that I don't know how to start this review. I just...I freaking love this packaging. It's everything a novelty Halloween candy should be!

Halloween Pasta - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ

Halloween Pasta - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ $1.89
Happy post-Halloween! I hope all of you were able to have a great night. Sadly, I saw little to no trick-or-treaters this year, so I still have a bunch of candy left over. (Who am I kidding. I'm secretly happy to be surrounded by a ton of sugary sweets.) Since I saw so few kids, the ones who did make it to my doorstep got a giant Pixie Stick, or a fistful of candy. How was the turn out in your area?

Since I was home hoping to give out candy to tons of people,  I decided to be festive and cook up some creepy pasta (get it?).

Gummy Tongues (& Other Body Parts) are back at Target!

Admittedly, these gummy tongues didn't taste great, but they were really fun to photograph, eat and play with. Check out last year's review HERE. If you plan on having a Halloween themed party or gathering, think of using these as an edible prop for a make-shift photobooth! They taste really artificial, but the photos I took with these things were well worth the purchase.
