Summer Soda Sippin' - Pepsi Wild Cherry and Cream

Summer Soda Sippin' - Pepsi Wild Cherry and Cream

After writing a few massive posts I wanted to take it easy with a quickie soda review.

Wild Cherry and Cream Pepsi sounds perfect for summer. I originally thought this was going to be a limited edition flavor, similar to Dr. Pepper's Coconut Creme💖, but it turns out this is a permanent addition to their line-up. (Although Coke said the same thing about Spiced and then it bit the dust after less than a year, so only time will tell.)

Berries 'n Cream - Dr. Pepper Edition

New Dr. Pepper has dropped and, for me, the timing could not be better.

I've been craving strawberry ice cream for weeks, but I already have 4 different flavors in my freezer, so, until I consume what I have (and blog about it), I'm not letting myself buy anymore ice cream. (Sporadic food blogger problems.) I actually walked to a local ice cream shop for a scoop, so I could scratch the itch without taking up freezer space, but there was a note posted saying they were closed for the rest of the month. (Even though I saw them open the day before! A literal sign from the universe?)

Then Dr. Pepper swoops in with THIS! A 20 oz. bottle of strawberries and cream themed soda.

Quickie Review: Dr. Pepper & Cream Soda, Better than the Original?

Dr. Pepper & Cream Soda

Last I heard, Dr. Pepper had a limited edition birthday cake flavor that was only available through some kind of online birthday club thing. I love Dr. Pepper, but I hate the anxiety and rush that comes from chasing down limited edition products, especially when they're limited to online releases, raffles, sign-ups, and social media contests. So, I didn't participate, but I was sad that I missed out. Then there was a 2015 Dr. Pepper themed water ice at Rita's that was only available in Texas, no where near me. Again, kinda bummed I missed out on that as well.

That was the last I had heard about anything Dr. Pepper related. So when I saw Dr. Pepper and Cream soda at Walmart I thought, "huh, why not?"

Cookies & Cream Pocky vs. White Cookie Pepero

Cookies & Cream Pocky vs. White Cookie Pepero
It's a battle of the brands! Korea's favorite, Pepero, versus Glico's Taiwanese Pocky! (This box came from Taiwan, not Japan, so it could differ slightly from the typical Japanese Pocky, so I wanted to be sure I pointed that out before we got started.)

Not only is this a handy way to get through two products from my stash at the same time, but it'll be interesting to see the difference between these two popular chocolate-coated snacks sticks. They look similar, and they're the same flavor, but trust me, they're very different. Which brand shall be victorious?

I'll be comparing them in three rounds, packaging, taste, and value for your money. Best out of three, wins!

Mike & Ike Sweet Paradise (Limited Edition) - Shop Rite: Berlin, NJ

Mike & Ike Sweet Paradise (Limited Edition)  - Shop Rite: Berlin, NJ
This Shop Rite seems to be trapped in a magical time warp of some kind. I found limited edition products well after their release dates, like this Jelly Bean chewing gum, and I've also seen products that I've never heard any other food blogger mention. Like these "Special Limited Edition" Sweet Paradise Mike and Ikes. I haven't seen this special edition flavor listed or reviewed on any other food sites. Is this new? Is it super old? I guess I'll open the box and find out.

Orange Kream-cicle Tastykake- Wawa: Collingswood, NJ

Orange Kream-cicle Tastykake- Wawa: Collingswood, NJ
Tastykake snacks and pies are very popular in this area, and a lot of my older family members absolutely love them, but these processed sweets are something that never grew on me. I very rarely buy them, in fact I only reviewed one and that was because it was part of my giant pumpkin haul, but I saw this new flavor at Wawa and thought it might be worth trying. Who knows, maybe I'll like it.

Orange Creme Limited Edition Peeps - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ

Orange Creme Limited Edition Peeps - Target: Cherry Hill, NJ
It's a bad sign, but I am starting to get sick of Peeps. After all of these new flavor releases, and reviewing them all, I kind of hope Just Born stops making new flavors for a while. I'm starting to feel like Francis in Malcolm in the Middle. (Apparently I can only find this video clip in Spanish.)

This is (hopefully) the last flavor I will be reviewing for the next few months. Alright, let's see how these Orange and Creme Peeps taste.

Cold Stone Creamery Hot For Cookie Creamer - Quickie Review

Cold Stone Creamery Hot For Cookie Creamer - Quickie Review
At this point, all of you know that my boyfriend is a total coffee junkie. He loves anything and everything related to coffee, so he is always finding these crazy creamers and syrups to make fancy drinks at home. I keep pretty up-to-date with sites like Food Beast and The Impulsive Buy, so I tend to know about fancy creamer flavors before they hit the stores, but he managed to find one I had never heard of.

Sioux City Orange Cream Soda - Home Goods :Moorestown, NJ

Sioux City Orange Cream Soda - Home Goods :Moorestown, NJ
Another item from my Home Goods haul.

Unlike the oogave soda, which is very modern, this brand has a classic look reminiscent of Stewart’s. (Stewart’s is the older of the two sodas since Sioux City wasn’t created until 1987.) There are only two colors of ink on the label, a creamy off-white and a grassy green, so the design is a little hard to make out. In case you can’t see it, there are two rugged men inside a canoe against a mountainous background. Personally, I think the color choices and imagery are a little confusing, but the overall design isn’t bad. (The green photographs really nicely.)

Like a lot of the bottled sodas I review, you actually need a bottle opener to get the cap off. (Which I like. I think it’s fun and adds to the experience.) Once you open it there is a lovely oranges and cream scent which is very similar to the Stewart’s version.

Mini Cadbury Creme Eggs - Walmart : Somerdale, NJ

Mini Cadbury Creme Eggs - Walmart : Somerdale, NJ
Back in October I reviewed the full sized Halloween Scream Egg (review here). Now that it’s officially Spring, Easter candies are everywhere. This year I picked up a few different Cadbury Creme Eggs to review. (The mini creme and mini caramel versions.)
These mini eggs are inside a plastic shell-casing that looks like a mix between an egg carton, and a diorama. There is quite a bit of packaging to these eggs. There is a cardboard bottom, purple plastic carton bottom, clear shell top and stickers holding the whole thing together. (Not to mention the foil on each individual egg.) While the presentation is cute, it does make a lot of waste.

Jersey-Creme Soda - Franklin Fountain : Philadelphia, PA

Jersey-Creme Soda - Franklin Fountain : Philadelphia, PA
"The PERFECT Drink"
This was another glass bottled soda I picked up back when I was at the Franklin Fountain. Not to be TOO cliche, but I AM a Jersey girl and I figured I should review a “Jersey” soda.
When I looked it up, it turns out this soda has quite the history! It was one of America’s first creme sodas! This beverage was originally used as a concentrate to make other creme flavored beverages.

Orange Creme Pop Extra Dessert Delights - Target : Cherry Hill, NJ

Orange Creme Pop Extra Dessert Delights - Target : Cherry Hill, NJ
The root beer float flavor turned out to be really yummy and a great addition to the Dessert Delights line up. Would orange creme pop be the same?
Click on the flavor for photos and a review:
The packaging this time has a red-orange color scheme with an orange creamsicle in the lower right corner. Creamsicle is actually copyrighted, but I have always called all vanilla x orange flavor combinations creamsicle. (I guess it’s like how people call all sodas ‘coke’)
