The "New Coke" of Reese's

Creamy & Crunchy Reese's Cups
- Walmart

I want to share one of my favorite College Humor/DropOut videos of all time, Oreo CEO.

Please binge the rest of the CEO videos, Brennan Lee Mulligan is an absolute gift.

Painfully accurate, right? Especially for junkfood people like me who remember the limited-edition-Oreo-hunting-days, but you know who else might be equally guilty? Reese's.

They, "done did the good peanut butter cup," and instead of "resting on their laurels," they are back at it again with a smooth and a crunchy version of their classic peanut butter cup. Are these improvements? Or completely unnecessary?

Which Slight Twist on a Classic is Superior?

Salted Caramel MilkyWay vs Peanut Brownie Snickers

Two classic candy bars slightly change things up, which is superior? The one that added salt, or the one that changed their nougat to "brownie?"

Who Asked For These? - Snickers Creamy (3 Different Flavors)

Snickers Creamy Squares  - Walmart
More items from my unexpected, "I just want to Walmart for Command Hooks," junkfood haul!
It's been well documented on my blog, and our defunct podcast, Candyology 101, that I I'm a MilkyWay kind of girl, but now-a-days I live in a Snickers household. My fiance and his daughter both love Snickers bars, it's their go-to candy bar and the first one to disappear in our candy drawer. (Does every home have a candy drawer? Or is that just a me-thing?) So I grabbed these thinking that I may not be a fan, but my family could potentially love them. Oh, how wrong I was...

Reeses Pieces Big Cup - Walmart #tbt

Reeses Pieces Big Cup - Walmart .89 cents
Buying a house is hard.
I know I haven't been updating, but that's because I've been dealing with all permits, repairs and legal mumbo-jumbo that come with short sale home ownership. I'm drowning in paperwork and quickly losing my mind, if there was ever a time to binge on (affordable) comforting junk food...it's NOW.
Reese's Pieces Big cups are old news. These have been out for months, but my usual stores are way off trend. The Pumpkin Spice Pillsbury cinnamon rolls started showing up on grocery store shelves in December, and I just saw freshly restocked "limited batch" Ben and Jerry's pumpkin cheesecake pints in the freezer section at my go-to Super Walmart. Great news for those of you missing basic fall flavors, not so great for cool food bloggers trying to stay relevant. (Who am I kidding, I'm neither of those things.)
If I had the time to hunt for this product at other shops, I might have found it a lot sooner, but candy is candy, so let's dig in!

BNutty Irresistible Pretzel Peanut Butter (Sample Review)

BNutty Irresistible Pretzel Peanut Butter - Sample from the Summer Fancy Food Show
Part of my pre-2017 stash busting includes finally getting to some of these samples from the Summer Fancy Food Show. That's right, SUMMER. Well, better late than never, right?
There are people out there who LOVE peanut butter. I've never quite understood the obsession. Sure, peanut butter is great, and I enjoy PB&J sandwiches and Reeses cups from time to time, but some people take it to the extreme.

Three Colors Crunch Ball Snacks - H-Mart

Three Colors Crunch Ball Snacks - H-Mart
Three Colors. Crunch Ball. When I saw this adorable pastel and pink package at H-mart picking it up was a no-brainer.

PB Crave Cookie Nookie Peanut Butter - Aldi $4.99

PB Crave Cookie Nookie Peanut Butter - Aldi $4.99
I bought the banana peanut butter for me, and this one I bought just for you guys. Looking at my older posts, and post made by my fellow food bloggers, the general public goes NUTS for cookie dough flavored stuff. I just don't understand it!

Don't get me wrong, cookie dough is amazing. Cookie dough flavored things? Not so much. I like to bake and I do so quite often, so I know what real cookie dough tastes like, and nothing "cookie dough flavored" has ever held a candle to the real deal. Do people just not remember what the real thing tastes like? Or do we all just turn a blind eye and accept it because of the convenience of not having to whip up a batch of dough ourselves? Maybe this peanut butter will prove me wrong, and I'll literally be eating my words, after all the banana version is great, but I'm pretty skeptical...

Buck Wild Honey BBQ Snack Mix - Gift but Available at Starbucks

Buck Wild Honey BBQ Snack Mix - Gift but Available at Starbucks
I was sent the snacks for free but not paid for this review.
A few months ago, the people behind Buck Wild sent me some gluten free products to review. Maybe it was because of my gluten free Aldi reviews? Whatever the reason, I'm all about free food.
They sent over a healthy selection, but one of the products that caught my eye was this Honey BBQ snack mix. I looked like it had corn nuts in it, and I've been craving corn chips, so I threw it into my photo setup for some quick snap shots so I could dig in.

Caffé Bene Coffee Bingsu - H-Mart

Caffé Bene Coffee Bingsu - H-Mart
Even though I'm not a big coffee drinker, I do like a little coffee ice cream once and a while, so why not try it in Bingsu form?

This container is several months old. I intended to review it right away, but it got wedged behind a few other things in my freezer and I completely forgot about it until I bought that strawberry version in New York. Now that I'm home, busting through my stash like a food blogging pro, it's time to finally try this frozen treat!

Candyology 101 Episode 33: Snickers vs. Milky Way, who's the better bar?

Which is your favorite?

On today's episode of Candyology 101 we decided to have a little debate, inspired by the upcoming election here in America.

I am a Milky Way fanatic. It's my favorite American candy bar and I love it to pieces. (Especially when it's frozen.) Cybele prefers Snickers, which is pretty much a Milky Way with peanuts tossed into the mix, and thinks they are the superior candy bar. I disagree. Peanuts ruin it! Which candy bar will come out on top? Will I win Cybele over to the peanut-free side? Tune in to find out, and be sure to share your preferred candy bar below!

Have you been liking Candyology101 so far?

Unreal 54, Candy Coated Chocolates with Peanuts - Target : Cherry Hill, NJ

Unreal 54, Candy Coated Chocolates with Peanuts - Target : Cherry Hill, NJ
These were a little gift from my mother, she saw them on sale during a trip to target and picked up a little bag for me. I have already reviewed two other Unreal candies, and so far I’ve been pretty impressed.

Other reviews:
I love the look of this brand! All of the packaging I have seen so far has used bright, metallic, colors for accents and their signature logo. The first time I ever saw the logo, it thought it looked like some kind of alien language, but it’s actually a really stylized font that says “UNREAL.” (You can read it in the 1st photo when you turn your head to the left.) The black packaging and limited text give this brand an secretive, adult, feel. It’s really different from everything else on the candy shelf, and I love that.
