Food From Space! (Meant to be read in an epic SPACE voice)

Watch my sister and I try various Astronaut items, and some freeze dried bananas!

After shooting the video we tried the freezer concept, and the moisture from our freezer didn't work out too well. However, we did mix up the Neapolitan ice cream with the bananas for a freeze dried banana split, and that was AWESOME. I highly recommend getting both items and doing that, it was really fun and delicious.

German Style Prosciutto - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ

German Style Prosciutto - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
I never realized how much I enjoy savory foods and snacks until I started blogging about food. The majority of the items I find and review are sweets, so when I find something savory, it's a real treat. (Kind of the opposite of what it's supposed to be, huh? First world food blogger problems.)

This item, as well as a bunch of Italian themed food products, had been offered at Aldi recently, and since I am (mostly) Italian and Hungarian (not a joke, I actually am), I thought I should check a few of them out. This prosciutto says it's German style, but we're going to lump it in with the Italian foods anyway.

Apple & Cinnamon FOUND - Target: Marlton, NJ

Apple & Cinnamon FOUND - Target: Marlton, NJ
I was buying some basics at Target when I spotted this fancy end-cap display by the registers. I guess Target is trying to get fancier with their food options to compete with Trader Joe's and Whole Foods? Or maybe they're trying to cash in on everyone's health related New Year resolutions? Either way, there was an entire display at the check-out featuring healthy soda alternatives. I don't drink a ton of soda, but the layout and designs for these beverages were just so different and interesting, I grabbed a bottle to review.

Belvoir Fruit Farms Beverages - Whole Foods: Marlton, NJ (Photo Heavy)

Belvoir Fruit Farms Beverages - Whole Foods: Marlton, NJ
It's been a really long time since I've been to Whole Foods, in fact, I actually bought these and photographed them while ago, I just never got around to typing up the review. (So don't let that 2014 expiration date scare you.) I drank these back in November and wrote down some notes, now I'm finally getting off my lazy butt and typing it all up. This is going to be PHOTO HEAVY, so you've been warned.

Limited Edition Yoplait Cinnamon Roll Greek Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin,NJ

Limited Edition Yoplait Cinnamon Roll Greek Yogurt - Walmart: Berlin,NJ
There have been so many new yogurts released this month, I wasn't sure where I should start, but when I saw this, I new I had to try it. Cinnamon buns are one of my favorite sweets. When they are soft, and warm, and when the icing is still all runny, they turn any bad day into a good one. I rarely get to have them, and I've been craving one really badly, so let's see if this Greek yogurt can satisfy my stomach. (That's what these are meant to do, right? They act as a healthier alternative to eating the real deal. So I'll put it to the test today.)

WMMR: Chuck Eats Fruit for the FIRST Time

This is a local radio show I listen to every day on my way to work, and I thought this segment was just hilarious. I mean, how do you go four decades without eating a strawberry? It just blows my mind!

I have met several adults like this who are extremely picky eaters and have been all their lives. Oddly enough, they were all men. I wonder if it's a genetic thing, maybe something is chemically different in their mouths/brains?

Anyway, watch a grown man eat fruit for the first time!

Chocolate Nut Fudge - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ

Chocolate Nut Fudge - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
I normally don't buy fudge, unless I'm at the Jersey Shore, but this Aldi item seemed a bit unique. (At least to me.) I mean, chocolate fudge with a cheddar base? Is that normal? When I make fudge I use a dairy base, usually sweetened condensed milk, which isn't completely different from cheddar cheese, but it sounds so odd! I didn't buy this right away, I scoped it out over nearly a month's worth of grocery runs, and the "cheddar" must have scared away potential buyers, because trip after trip, the display was untouched. It went on clearance the other day and when I saw how cheap it was, I finally took the risk and tossed it into my cart.

Sailor Moon Chocolate Packaging Review!

This is a (pretty clumsy) video I shot looking at the packaging for the Sailor Moon chocolates I ordered from jbox.com. I'm in the process of taking photos for a full fledged bog post, or three, they'll be really photo heavy, so I might have to break it up, but for now, watch me fumble with packaging and check out the beautiful pastel artwork of Sailor Moon! (I mean, let's not kid ourselves, I bought this for the packaging, the chocolates are just an added bonus.)

Sorry for the jumpy editing, all I have in Movie Maker and I had to edit out some clips where my dog was barking and what-not. I have to get better at this YouTube stuff.

Beer Brat BBQ Pizza - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJAs s

As seen on my Instagram Account
Beer Brat BBQ Pizza - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
In 2014, several Aldi-exclusive brands released pizzas with some interesting flavors, like Chicken Club, Gyro, Tandoori, and Cuban. I had a lot of fun buying and trying them all, and while none of them were inedible, I can't say they were all enjoyable either. The Chicken club was one of the richest, cheesiest, and crispiest freezer pizzas I have ever had, the others? Well, they were fun concepts, but none worked nearly as well as the Chicken Club.

Even though I wasn't wowed by the last few Aldi pizzas I've reviewed, I still wanted to give this Beer Brat version a try. It's so different from the others, and it's  only specialty take-and-bake pizza they currently offer. (Although more might be on the way soon.) Let's see if this pizza was worth the purchase.

The box for this pizza was WAY too big for my photo set up, which is meant for tiny foods, so this photo was taken with my cellphone in the Aldi freezer case.

Unlike the other Aldi pizzas I've reviewed, this one is from their Take & Bake line, so it's kept in the refrigerated section instead of the freezer, and it's packaged similarly to a take-out pizza. The rest of the pizzas in this line are 16", while this one is only 14, so it's a bit smaller than usual, and it's a bit more expensive. Even with the price tag padded a little bit, it was still cheaper than a delivery pizza of the same size with the same amount of toppings. As far as the design goes, I like the simple brown cardboard and black text, and it does a good job of looking nice while staying relatively cheap. It isn't as gorgeous as other full color pizza boxes, but it gets the job done just fine.

I removed the shrink plastic from the refrigerated pizza, preheated the oven, and baked it until the crust started the brown and the cheese bubbled. (Just like you would with any other frozen/refrigerated pizza.) When it was done, it smelled sweet, like BBQ sauce and caramelized onions. The aroma was much sweeter than I originally thought it'd be, and I couldn't detect anything beer-y about it.

I sliced it up, and took a bite. I gotta say, I can't taste any beer in this at all. Part of me is relieved, I hate beer, but that does seem like false advertizing. The box said that this was covered with a "Beer BBQ sauce," but it tastes like Kraft Honey BBQ to me. It's really sweet, a little onion-y, and tomato-y. It's not bad at all, it's just really sweet. As for the rest of the pizza, the caramelized peppers and onions added a different texture, but they were really sweet as well, and the cheese blend was pretty mild. The strongest flavoring, other than the sauce, were the thick slices of bratwurst which added a slightly spicy and meaty flavor.

It's been a long time since I've eaten Bratwurst, I think I had some during a Christmas party in 2013, so I don't really have a vivid brat-based memory to compare this to, but to me, these slices taste like a better version of the sausage crumbles that delivery pizza usually comes with. These slices were moist, meaty, and they helped to offset the sweetness just a bit. (Moist and meaty... that was awful to type.)

I don't think I would buy this pizza again, it was just too sweet for me, it needs something strong to cut through all that sweetness, maybe some spicy peppers? Then again, that's my personal preference. If you enjoy the sweet BBQ sauce based pizzas from Papa John's, you'll love this one. This was better than the last three Papa John's pizzas I've tried, but it was just too sweet for me to want to repurchase.

Papa Johns better step-up their game, you're getting beaten by a no-frills grocery store brand.

Meville Candy: Honey Spoons - Marshall's/Home Goods: Cherry Hill, NJ

Meville Candy: Honey Spoons - Marshall's/Home Goods: Cherry Hill, NJ
It's that time of year, everyone around me has a cold, the flu, or one of those oh-so-fun viruses. Even though I'm surrounded by sick people, I'm still going strong, well not really. I have a bit of congestion and raspy throat, but so far that's it, and I intend to keep it that way.

This is another item that's been sitting in my review pile for a while, and what better time to try it out? Honey is perfect for raspy throats, so let's give these spoons a try.

Kabaya Saku Saku Panda - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Kabaya Saku Saku Panda - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ
Adorable little panda shaped cookies covered in chocolate? How could I resist? When I saw these in the aisle, the chocolate box immediately went into my handcart, but I waxed and waned over the strawberry ones. Normally I avoid strawberry flavored chocolates at H-mart and the Asian Food Market, the artificial strawberry that Asian chocolates like to use just doesn't appeal to me. I love real fresh strawberries, but strawberry Pocky? No thank you. I came to the conclusion that I just couldn't give up the opportunity to photograph pink panda cookies, they'd be so cute! Into the cart they went, and they sat in my to-be-reviewed pile for... well, an embarrassingly long time.

To help me knock out my stash a bit faster, I'll be reviewing both flavors today, so this post will be a bit photo-heavy. (You've been warned.)

Desserts Skittles - Dollar General: Berlin,NJ

Desserts Skittles - Dollar General: Berlin,NJ
Don't let the package fool you, these aren't really "new," well, at least they aren't anymore. These came out a while ago, and a lot of food blogs have already reviewed them, but I'm still working my way through my food hoard, and I'm a bit behind the times. These might not be all that new anymore, but I still want to see what these dessert Skittles taste like. Let's get to it!

Crispy Oven Baked Wings

Crispy Oven Baked Wings- Pinterest Recipe Review : The PIN The RECIPE
Today I have another post based on my YouTuber obsession, this time I was inspired by Chef John from FoodWishes.com. As the name suggests, he's a chef and he's a YouTuber, I've been subscribed to him for a long time now and I've tried several of his recipes. (All of them worked out great.) Yesterday I found a bag of chicken wings in my freezer, and I figured I might as well try out his method for making oven-baked wings that are (nearly) as crispy as fried ones. The results? SUCCESS!

Limited Edition Cherry Apple Cobbler Juice Drink - Walmart: Berlin,NJ

Limited Edition Cherry Apple Cobbler  Juice Drink - Walmart: Berlin,NJ
Old Orchard came out with a few different flavors this season, I already tried the Apple Pie version, reviewed here, and I wasn't too impressed. I originally bought that flavor because I remembered hearing about a similar product from YouTuber xSparkage, but it just didn't pan out. Cherry cobbler is one of my absolute favorite desserts, and although I've never had apple in it, I can't imagine it would make me love it any less. Hopefully this "juice drink" will taste a bit better.

Meltyblend Royal Milk Tea Chocolates - Asian Food Market: Cherry Hill, NJ

Meltyblend Royal Milk Tea Chocolates - Asian Food Market: Cherry Hill, NJ
This is another case of me wandering around the Asian Food Market and having a pretty package catch my eye. I wasn't a fan of the spiced chocolates I tried this fall, but I wonder...how will a tea infused chocolate taste? I guess I'll find out!

Ice Corn Snack - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Ice Corn Snack - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ
Time for something wintery and unexpected, Korean corn snacks you put in your freezer! That's right, these are sweetened corn snacks that you're supposed to chill before eating, I'm not sure if it's meant to be a unique snack, or if the refrigerating process is meant to make these vanilla corn snacks taste like vanilla ice cream, either way, this is going to be really fun!

Caramel Wafers - Aldi: Cherry Hill, NJ
This was an item I saw at Aldi multiple times, and I don't really know what finally made me toss it into my cart, but I'm really happy I did.

Project 7 Sugar Free Birthday Cake Gum - JoAnn Fabrics: Cherry Hill, NJ

Project 7 Sugar Free Birthday Cake Gum - JoAnn Fabrics: Cherry Hill, NJ
Birthday cake flavored gum? And it's not from the Dessert Delight's line? What madness is this?

I had been on the lookout for Project 7's products after seeing a few fellow foodie bloggers review a few of their items, and I finally found them in my area, at the crafty store of all places! I already reviewed the vanilla peppermints from this line, and I liked those quite a bit. They've been in my purse ever since and everyone I've shared them with has enjoyed them as well. Since the mints were such a hit, I decided to give this gum a try, even though I still feel like "Birthday Cake" is a subjective flavor. Come on! There is no one-way to make a birthday cake! It could be any flavor of cake and any flavor of icing, then again, I guess "vanilla cake and icing" doesn't have the same allure as "birthday cake."

Oh well, on to the review!

Holiday Mix Skittles - DollarTree: Cherry Hill, NJ

Holiday Mix Skittles - DollarTree: Cherry Hill, NJ
We all know by now that I'm a bit of a Scrooge about the winter holidays, so I didn't buy very many holiday themed foods or candies, but this odd little item caught my eye. It's a mix of Skittles that are only red and green, and the flavors in this mix are a bit...off.

Instant Corn Potage Soup - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ

Instant Corn Potage Soup - H-Mart: Cherry Hill, NJ
I woke up this morning, looked outside my window, and everything was covered in snow. We only got two inches, and I know many of you get a LOT more snow in your area and my piddly little amount is nothing to complain about, but I just hate winter. I'm a total Scrooge about the holidays and I hate being cold. Snow is fun when you're a little kid. You sometimes get out of school, you have snowball fights, build forts, it's magical and whimsical and fun. Once you have your own car, and your college or job won't close unless it's the end of times, and even then you're lucky if you get a 2-hour delay, snow looses a lot of it's appeal.

Since it's cold and snowy, what better way to warm up than with a bowl of soup?

Jif Pumpkin Pie Spiced Whipped Peanut Butter - Target: Marlton, NJ

Jif Pumpkin Pie Spiced Whipped Peanut Butter - Target: Marlton, NJ
This was one of those seasonal products that no one really asked for, it just came into existence, and food bloggers like me decided to give it a try because, well, it's a pumpkin spiced peanut butter! It's new, and different, and people like me wonder, why would you want to combine these two flavors? Will it actually taste any good? I don't know about the rest of you, but I wasn't exactly thrilled to see this product, and I thought about skipping it entirely, but (like most seasonal products) it went on sale, and I couldn't resist.

Limited Edition Apple Pie Juice Drink - Walmart: Berlin,NJ

Limited Edition Apple Pie Juice Drink - Walmart: Berlin,NJ
I love watching different YouTubers, in fact, I watch YouTube videos way more than I watch TV. One person that I've been following for years is beauty blogger, xSparkage. She might be considered a beauty guru, but she loves food and kitchen gadgets, and a long time ago she was raving about a drink that tasted just like apple pie. It was over a year ago, so I can't remember what video it was, and I don't know if this is the same brand she was drinking, but when I saw this, I remembered her video, and I knew I had to try this stuff out.

Duff Energy Drink - Five Below: Philadelphia, PA

Duff Energy Drink - Five Below: Philadelphia, PA
Normally I avoid energy drinks, but I'm a sucker for nostalgic novelty products, and surprisingly, the last three video game and Nintendo themed novelty energy drinks I reviewed from Five Below were quite tasty! Why not give Duff a try? (It's Duffman approved! Oh yeah!)

Take that Papa Johns! (Tonight's Dinner Via my Instagram)

Cranberry Almond Thins - BJ's: Marlton, NJ

Cranberry Almond Thins - BJ's: Marlton, NJ
I took a chance, and bought the big box of the Pistachio Thin Addictives from Nonni's a while ago, and I loved them so much, I thought I should grab this bis ol' box of Cranberry ones too. Cranberry seems like a winter-y flavor, so I might as well review this now before Valentine's candies start taking over my blog.

2014 Sometimes Foodie Collage!

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here’s this year’s collage of all the food items I ate and reviewed in 2014. It seems like the collage is very orange-heavy this year, I guess I was very into yellow/orange/and brown foods this time around.

Thank you all so much for following, liking, commenting, subscribing and following me. I’m so happy there are people out there who enjoy food just as much as I do. I hope I can review some really interesting and yummy foods for all of you this year!

Thank you again, and here’s to another year of delicious food!

Mike & Ike Sweet Paradise (Limited Edition) - Shop Rite: Berlin, NJ

Mike & Ike Sweet Paradise (Limited Edition)  - Shop Rite: Berlin, NJ
This Shop Rite seems to be trapped in a magical time warp of some kind. I found limited edition products well after their release dates, like this Jelly Bean chewing gum, and I've also seen products that I've never heard any other food blogger mention. Like these "Special Limited Edition" Sweet Paradise Mike and Ikes. I haven't seen this special edition flavor listed or reviewed on any other food sites. Is this new? Is it super old? I guess I'll open the box and find out.

Pringles Honey Butter Stix - Gift

Pringles Honey Butter Stix  - Gift
This item was actually a gift from my bosses and their daughter. They originally bought a box of these for her lunches and after school snacks, and I won't spoil anything before I get into the review, but a little packet was sitting right on my desk when I came into work. Without any explanation, my boss told me I had to review and try it, and you'll see why...

Welch's Caramel Apple Sparkling Cocktail - BJ's: Marlton, NJ

Welch's Caramel Apple Sparkling Cocktail  - BJ's: Marlton, NJ
It's a new year, and there's no better time to review something sparkling and bubbly! This has actually been in my stash for quite a while. Back in October, I reviewed this bottle of Sparkling Pumpkin Cocktail, and that came in a three-pack with two bottles of this. I wasn't able to find any of these items sold on their own in the grocery store, only in a large 3-pack of two caramel bottles and one pumpkin at BJ's, so I bit-the-bullet and bought the whole pack. I put one bottle out for my friends to drink at my cookie party a few weeks ago, and then I save this bottle to review. Let's see if this stuff is as enjoyable as it's pumpkin-counterpart.

Trader Joe-Joe's (Candy Cane) - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ

Trader Joe-Joe's (Candy Cane ) - Trader Joe's: Marlton, NJ
Happy New Year everyone! So a wrench was kind of thrown into the works last night, and I didn't get to be at my PC like I originally planned. I already had all the photos edited and ready to go, so I"ll be posting a few reviews today, and I'll be posting some new items in my etsy shop. Although I don't really make New Year's resolutions, I am trying to kick off 2015 by being super productive, so let's get this review started!
